Super Smash Bro's Brawl

failhard.
GameStop had a midnight release yesterday for my hometown, my local gaming community went ahead and taped it as well. For a medium-sized city, the line was pretty long.
Perfect timing for them, as Spring Break has just started.

ive been playing it all day, nintendo 1st party games just keep getting better and better and better. this game looks spectacular and runs very smooth. why cant any other developer make games look this good on WII????
this game is super addicting and there are enough different modes and playtypes to make your head spin...must own if you have a wii.
big problem though, thus far, the internet connection is spotty at best. i have a brand new linksys N router on a secured network, everything is set up by the book and the nintendo connection test is successful however the games connect about 5% of the time....very frustrating.
perhaps because the game has only been out for 12 hours? i dunno, either way, nintendo needs to iron out the problems with their servers or whatever. the game flat out does not work online at this point, anyone else experiencing these problems?
that issue aside, this game is awesome and the fun factor will last for a loooong time....so much stuff to do and unlock.

controls are simple, smooth, easy.
you can use:
gamecube controller
classic controller
wiimote alone
wiimote and nunchuck
all control schemes are the basically the same.

Hubby, friend, sister and I all went to the gamestop and waited in line for about 20-30 minutes at midnight!
We've been waiting for the same since we heard it was going to be a launch title with the wii.
The game is great and we've already unlocked a few characters. We've tried the internet connection and it was alright.
Controls are good. Personally I like the gamecube controller the best (wavebird). My husband likes using the classic controller (SNES). My sister uses the wii remote alone.
Great game! It's def. fun with a bunch of people.

This is the best game I have played in 2008 so far. I have always been obsessed with the super smash bros. series and this one does nothing to ruin the already great gameplay while adding plenty of new features like special moves, great characters, and online play (which, as said above, isn't in good working order yet). But, prepare for endless hours of multiplayer!

My brother has said he's been having trouble connecting to the internet with the Wii. For those of you experiencing the same, can you connect the Wii to the internet itself or is it the connection to Brawl servers that are messing up?

How do you play alone with the Wiimote?
Glad to see you guys like the game. I'll test it out in 2 wks, after finals.
Maybe this will make me buy a wii?

you just hold the wiimote sideways with 2 hands, very simple.
maybe this will make you buy a wii? Look, at this point, the naysayers really have no more ammunition...sure the 3rd party titles are spotty at best and sure, its nowhere near the graphical powerhouse of PS3 or Xbox 360, but just based on the strength of the 1st party games out now, Wii is a must-own console for any video game fan. The system has not ONE system seller game but at least FOUR!! Any of which, on their own merit owning a Wii. Put all together, and you have months of quality gaming at your fingertips.
Super Mario Galaxy
Metroid Prime 3 - Corruption
Zelda - Twighlight Princess
Super Smash Bros - Brawl
(next month) Mario Kart Wii
simply put, at this point if you have not played those games, you are missing out bigtime. any one of those games may not look as good as xbox 360 games or ps3 games but will EASILY provide more enjoyment and fun than the vast majority of games out for either of the more powerful systems.

got it yesterday from target, they had cases of them and the girl at the counter said they had sold around a hundred with a hundred left (va)
only played for like an hour, solo campaign was pretty fun, and did brawl with my neighbor who had never played, we didn't try online yet
overall pretty impressed, the best looking wii game i have played by far, and the controls are extremely responsive, i use just the wii remote, might have to bust out a gamecube controller to try it.

Its good but it takes a while to get used too. I still prefer the original for N64. Lucario so far is the best character I think.

Agreed.
It is more or a party system for me, it really only gets broken out for tennis/dr. wario/raymon rabbids 2/ guitar hero III when guests are over
I do however download all the NES games and relive my childhood. I still can't beat mario 2.

Yess!! It's much faster, graphics improved lots, lots of interesting maps too. New items, and you can take more damage too! I really like it!

I was talking with a co worker and we both thought that it would be nice if you could play as your Mii and have a create-a-fighter
