I've been trying to play the demo, but it takes forever to join and session, and when you do join, you either get kicked or the host ends the session

Yup! I too am having hard time connecting into a game with the Demo. I never played online with SC series. Always bought for single player. With all the previews and reviews hope this will be as good as or better than Chaos Theory. Waiting for Wedenesday. First I'll play Single Player and then will try it online. I'll add you guys. Let me know if you have a diff gamertag. (Lazy to scan through live thread )

Can someone explain to me (in a nut shell) the story behind Splinter Cell? If the title's "Double Agent" does that mean he's working on both sides? Killing, both good guys AND bad guys?

(needless to say, I've never played any of the series before)

Man! you need to play all 3 past titles. It's one of the best titles I liked in all my gaming life. Orginal, Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory all were awesome. I'd say if you've not played SC before start with the original one, you can get for like $5 bucks. At least play Chaos Theory before Double Agent to get hang of the character, you can be realy stealthy and play without being noticed and killing anybody (other than if in our primary objectives). I've played this at least 15 times now and have 100% on all levels.

This SCA is about that Sam Fisher have to work within the terrorist group and there are multiple endings on the decisions you'd make while workign undercover. Sometimes you'll have to kill good people and save bad guys. We'll know how it flows when it comes out on Wed. With the demo I'm not that impressed with Multi Player. but Single Player will be the best as I've seen many previewes. The demo for single player will be out next some time as I read somewhere.

wait a minute, so the game that's coming out this week, is multiplayer only???

...also, are the previous SC games play-able on the 360?

Nope. The game being release on 18th is in both mode. The Demo released on Live Marketplace is on multiplayer for now and Single Player is due next week sometime.

All Tom Clancy sweries is backward compatible, though I've played only Chaos Theory on 360.

oh, I see... you were referring to the demo, thanks!

...what's your opinion on all of Tom Clancy's games? I LOVE, LOVE GRAW, and I'm dying for the release of Rainbow Six-Vegas... (I've never played Rainbow
Six series either), which one would you say is the best franchise?

(a little about me, the games where you don't see your guy in the screen but just your hands holding the gun, like Call of Duty, Battlefield 2, for some reason they cause me to get dizzy... I don't know why... I guess it's a visual thing. Don't get me wrong, I loved Call of Duty 2, and Battlefield 2, but I can only handle about 30-45 minutes tops, then I have to quit )

I love all Tom Clancy series. I've played all GRs too. The GRAW I liked single player but multiplayes had lot of flaws I guess and spawn killing people ruined it for me. SO I never really got started on multiplayer, I'll say.

I'm not that into just shooter games like Halo though I played those. I see what you are saying you like third person shooters than first person. Me too. I've played original rainbow six again on sigle player. I did not have live with my old xbox just bought it along with 360. Original Rainbow is cool. You know what Ubisoft have a trilogy game DVD out which have, Orginal Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon 1, Ranbox 6. 3 in 1 DVD. I bought one on ebay for $6 brand new. Try for it and you can play splinter and rainbow both.

i bought it and played twice to end with all choice objective. It is good but nothing much to own I think. Also read on IGn it is not very good online eihter. So I'll say rent it. I'm probably will sell my copy soon. Only disappointing is that you cannot get 100% on stealth meter like in Chaos Theroy.

I haven't been disappointed with any of the Tom Clancy titles so I'll probably pick this one up too.

this splinter cell is sweet...the graphics are unreal! After just beating GRAW, I think this will be a good transition!
