I'll probably be waiting several years before I get a PS3, and I'll probably buy used, so that I don't have to pay a dollar for every car/track that I want to have in the game.

9 of the top 10 pre-order list are Blu-Ray movies, and they aren't Blu-Ray exclusives.

Granted Sony Blu-Ray sales are huge winners in Japan....time will tell if the PS3 /Bluray strategy works. It's for sure a good strategy to link Bluray to the PS3...no doubt.....risky.....yes.

Well here in North America, it will take at least 2 or 3 years until we can find out who wins.

Sony is feeling the heat. I kinda feel bad for them. In Japan they will be second to Nintendo, and in America they are facing an uphill battle with Microsoft. Plus the PSP is a failing piece of hardware. The PSP kinda messed their image up as of late.

Perhaps dual format players will help in the short term, but I believe in the end one of the two formats will win out, and the other will die. Who will win remains to be seen.

Well, one lesson about a Sony media that kinda did well in Asia (and Japan) but flubbed everywhere is the Minidisc. So, yeah...Asian popularity of course doesn't necessarily translate to global standard...
We'll see...
