I just picked up SOCOM II and the adapter is on the way.

That's all I need to play online right? Just the $40 adapter, or is there something else like what you guys have linked to above?

 

you need dsl or cable and a router to plug the adapter into. Also, the headset is good to have so you can talk to your teammates during the game

 

Yeah your only gonna need the adapter (thats pictured above) if you're running a wireless dsl/cable modem to your PS2. Otherwise you're good to go.

Ok just got back from picking everything up. Best Buy had the Linksys Game Adaptor and the Headset but they were out of the PS2 Network Adaptor.

Went to Toys R' Us but they were out of it too. Then went to CompUSA and they actually had it.

Got to setup all this stuff now and i'll be good to go.

 

Got the game last night. I will play when I get home tonight.

Granted we will not all be online at the same time, but we need a good number of guys to show up when we decide to play..

We play in the HSS(Howard Stern Show) clan now. We meet weekdays at 9p.m. and we get a really decent turn out.. but the clan has grown to 18 people very quickly and we need to trim some of the fat tonight....

I will talk with Scott about Clan CL-S and we will start sending invites to you guys so we can play on Sundays..

are you guys good? I'm a Lt. Commander, but I'm still pretty new at it. I seem to average about 1 kill for every 2 deaths. But then i like to charge and blast people, i'm not very stealthy.

 

We'll see. I have trouble with lag sometimes because of my 14.4 modem. Hopefully there won't be too many people on tonight.

 

The lag has increased unbelievably since X-mas. Before the max people I saw playing was 16,000 now it is regularly in the 25-28,000 range.

 

Whats the max? 100k right?

 

When I created my new name, the first game I played I had 17 kills and only 1 death. I was an Admiral for about 25 mins. Haha

 

Mr. Steve and Smitty are pretty damn good...! And Soopa has picked up pretty quick..

I picked up the game today from costco for 42bux, now I just have to wait for my friend to grab me a memory card and headset...logitech or sony??

I owned the Newb position tonight. Started off slowly (first game tonight) but i did get better.

After i was done i got that headset to finally transmit. Works good now. No clue why i couldn't talk before.

 

Sometimes it just doesn't work! I don't know why, can't explain it. And you did get alot better. First few games you had 0 kills then I saw you with 3-4 later.


It was cool to see so many people playing tonight.

Oh and for the record, I OWN Smitty

Chaptorial, you did a lot better tonight than I did my first few games, well, better than most of my games actually. When i first started I would regularly have 0-1 kills and 8-11 deaths.
