So, I got an XBox...

...from my GF for Christmas and now I need to get some warez!

I already picked up Ninja Gaiden, Soul Caliber II, and Crimsom Skies...And yes, the Halo games are next up. But, anything else I should get or did I kinda name all the good games already for this system? Thanks!

Rainbow 6 cool squad first person shooter, Splinter Cell....if you have never played it it's great...get the first one for 20 bucks or less. Burnout 3 looks cool too.

You may want to "mod" your box too.

Crimsom Skies. Yeah, it came out a year or two ago. But, it was in the bargain bin...so, can't complain.

The reason why I have not taken the plunge for Halo 2 is that I have a slight problem with FPS games on consoles as I'm so used to the keyboard-mouse layout on PC games. That being said, I'm still going to get the app just not right away (gotta get a game with a Ninja first, you know! )...

Very good. I was a big fan of the series when it was on the NES. Pick it up if you are into action/platformer gaming!

Once you play it live....you'll forget about the keyboard-mouse.

Thanks for the tip! I heard you can "soft"-mod the Xbox?

Just because it's old, doesn't mean it's bad.

In fact i think Crimson Skies is more fun than both Halo 2 and NFS:U2. It's a very good game.

Both Prince of Persia games are awesomesauce. As is Burnout 3. Psi-ops is good fun too.

Hope that helps! I have yet to soft-mod an XBOX...I prefer the good ol' modchip method.

Good luck!

Burnout 3 is awesome! Unfortunately, I'm 94% done with the game and can't seem to find the effort (or multiple retries) to beat the last big race. Looks like it's going to stay 94 for a while

I am really enjoying x-men legends.

Kind of cool game with cartoon like graphics. You can power up your player similar to the KOTR system of points and powers.

LONG one player game too.

of course halo/halo 2 are a must

Ninja Gaiden is the shit. That game is too badass. Frustrating at times and challenging but awesome. You'll be busy with that game for a while.

I have a had a few friends softmod their XBOXes and I don't think it was too difficult, but I'm in the same boat as you...I'd rather shell out the $50 or so (www.divineo.com is decent) for the chip.

The first question isn't addressed to me, but...You might want to check out this link from the FAQ @ Xbox-Scene forums: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=8970

Those forums you will find to be incredibly useful if you just take some time to read it. (Beware of reposts though...I'd say in comparison, we're pretty lax here about )

Anyway, I recently bought the Xenium Ice Solderless (halfway down this page: http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/search.html)

As for the dashboard, I highly recommend obtaining Slayer's EvoX Installer (more information found at the official website: http://slayer.xbox-scene.com/)...That thing basically just packs everything one could need on an XBOX into a simple installer (including a nice EvolutionX dashboard)...Definitely check out the Xbox-Scene site for a lot more information though!

Yes, the dashboard is the operating system of the box, so to speak. Refer to my dashboard comment above.

Hope my answers help you a bit! Good luck with the modding!

That game is fucking impossible. Took me an hour to figure out how to beat the first boss!

That's the fun part. I already beat it a long time ago but it took a few weeks as I only played an hour or so a day. Oh and I tried super freakin hard or whatever, I couldn't hit the first boss once.

Speaking of hard games, I found Shinobi for the PS2 just brutally hard...And Contra: Shattered Soldier was enough to induce me to curl up into a fetal position trying to take it on in the harder modes...
