So I Got My First Console...

Today, I got a Wii and four controllers

For me, this is a big move since I've never purchased a console. Always stuck to emulators before. However, due to some domestic pressure (read: Girlfriend) I got a Wii so we can play with friends.

In addition, I got a 37" 1080P LCD for $800

My wallet is screaming rape right now...

^ Congrats, Ken!

The Wii's a console that's seemingly MADE for the sole purpose of letting GFs play and inviting friends over.

Set it up and I really like it. Color and contrast were excellent on the first try

Love the Wii. I was playing Mario Party earlier, its quite addictive.

And right now I'm enjoying Patton on the TV.

They need that movie in HD ASAP

I want one but my wife thinks I won't play it. Every console I ever got recently collects dust and I end up selling it.....

Good choice for a first film on your new screen.
Do you have an upconverting DVD player?

You know was at Target yesterday and saw that TV. HD sets are becoming cheaper and cheaper which is a good thing... Also do you have component cables for your Wii? Because if you are using the stock composite cables on the HD set it does not look so nice... And yea get RE4 for the Wii!

Mind you, that's like a first that I have ever heard that a girl's playing Madden.
More power to you that she's a willing participant in a good app.

I got the 32" version of that TV on black friday for $380. Both of my brothers, my parents, and two of my cousins got the same TV as you, but without the HDTV TV tuner for $500. My uncle got the 42" version of that TV for $700.

Black Friday FTW.
