I have aux inputs on my PC but they are only 1/8" and optical SPDIF (not like the audio output of my monitor, which is digital SPDIF). am I missing something?

 

I believe PS3 has option of outputting the audio through HDMI, optical, or RCA... and it should be easier to find the RCA->1/8 converter from radioshack or something

i need to look at the back of my ps3.. it's been a while since i looked at it, so i might be mistaking here...

 

mf'ing and may suggest turning the sound off and putting on some chill music.. which I guess would work in your case since you have no sound.

I got GT5P tonight... is there any way to copy someone else's savedata to my PS3? I kinda don't feel like doing everything, I just want all the cars... thanks in advance.

 

You can copy via USB stick, which is what I did .. however, some games won't allow copying of files, which screwed me over when I switched hard drives .. had to work for all my Rock Band 2 stuff again. Don't know about GT5P.

I just got COD yesterday (yeah, moving in slow motion over here) but I can't play it until after Christmas, cause that is when my son is getting the PS3...so I will be all ready waiting in line to use it...the PS3 is for him I swear it is..ok?, ok, well...maybe not.... don't tell my wife ok? By the time I get it and get somewhat good at it - you guys will have all moved on already to some other game this sucks, I hate waiting..... hmmm..maybe Santa should test drive the PS3 - you know to make sure it works ok...haha

 

When you switch HDD's you back up the RB2 save data to an external and then install the new HDD and it will transfer over. You just can't use it on another PS3.

Been there, done that. Don't have the time or patience for that kinda thing anymore. I just want to drive the cars - there are 71, no way in hell I am gonna play and get enough money to buy them all. So, I need a gamesave.

 

to elaborate a bit more, I find it absolutely annoying to drive a Cappucino for 3 laps and I would much rather avoid having to do things like that. I would much rather just get right into the F40 and start driving. If a game is annoying me, I don't see any reason to play it.

you know what, the thing with not wanting to complete the GT5P races myself has a lot to do with how old it is. It came out what, last year? And most of my friends have a lot of the good cars and I've played them already. Why the F would I want to race all those things again and get money so I can buy the cars for myself? pointless. I have all the cars now, and it's cool.

if I bought a game which I hadn't ever played before, I would try to play through the game. as I did last night with Burnout Paradise (pretty fun!). speaking of which, there is a "Time Saver" option in the game store to unlock everything in the game, for $4.99.

that being said, things have changed, I'm no longer going to spend hours and hours trying to unlock everything in a game. As long as I'm having fun and enjoying whatever I'm doing , that's all that matters to me.

eh.. most are downloads.

at least I already owned a PS3! I have some odd tendencies... for instance, I owned 80 CD's before I owned a CD player... yes this is going back to the late 80's or so.... I was a demented kid - since I couldn't listen to the CD's myself otherwise, (my dad was quite old school in that regard and didn't buy a CD player himself until like mid 1990's), I used to take my CD's along with blank tapes to electronics stores and record them there. LOL. how crazy. I'm talking recording entire 90 minute cassettes with custom tracklists from multiple CD's - setting the record levels manually on the tape decks, the whole nine yards. When salespeople would ask what I was doing, I would just say I was very interested in the model and my dad would most likely be buying it. LOL

so yeah, this ain't a lot of games. ;d and, I did buy the PS3 to play it.
