when I first heard this and saw the screen shots, especially after ign teased the community saying "xbox exlusive title will be revealed tonight"

I thought rockstar was just making fun of ea's sweaty sport game shots, and I'm still not convinced they arent.

Have you played Condemned on Xbox 360? The whole game looks like CG. CG shots are no longer too far from actual game graphics..

I think it's time to ditch your Xbox and get a 360

im sure i will when the 3rd gen comes out or so...and the price drops some.. i dont play my xbox,ps2, or game cube at all anymore. the only game i play right now is WoW... but i will get one in the future when dont have to hunt them down.. i know the graphics are insane for the 360 but i was just saying in general even for the ps2 or whatever all the ever show is the damn cg and not very much in game.. i would just like to see some more in game and leave the cut scenes out as i usally skip them to keep killing shit

In the conceptual stages of a game, CG shots are what they release first since they don't have any polished gameplay footage yet. This is most likely where this game is at right now. Also, games usually start out as a storyboard, either on paper or in something like Illustrator - from which they translate it into the 3D medium. At that point, they generate CGI renderings which is what you see here. They are probably quite excited about the renderings and want to share with the public. This also creates hype, a very desirable thing in the video game industry (and most other industries).

Another thing is - TV screenshots usually don't look too good on a computer, because of TV's drastically lower resolution (compared to high resolution computer displays). This is changing as a result of HD, and surely we are seeing better screenshots from Xbox 360. They usually want to lead a product off with the best-looking images they have of it.

due for release on May 22nd. this looks incredible, folks. IF they get the movement down, which I would think they will, this game will kick much ass.

Speaking of which, I had the displeasure of playing NBA 2K6 on 360 over the weekend... god. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE physics and motion of players.... I was in disbelief over how bad such a good-looking game actually played.

Which is exactly what nintendo revolution is all about. Beautiful graphics are for naught if you can't have fun playing the fucking game.

a few quick reviews...

* IGN (78/100) - "If you want a table tennis game that's strictly focused on great mechanics and addictive gameplay, but that lacks a reasonable single-player mode and is shockingly sparse, Rockstar Presents Table Tennis is your game."

* GamePro (85/100) - "The best thing about the gameplay is that it's all about reflex and intuition -- accessible to all, but hard to master online competitive play. Setting up power shots, killer topspin, and hitting the corners of the table becomes easy in short amount of time. This game is an instant classic and is guaranteed to please the masses."

* Eurogamer (90/100) - "It's the sign of a great sports game when you can't think of anything you'd want to change in the next version. It doesn't need another version."

Its fun as hell. No career mode or anything though, which seems odd.
