What the hell are you talking about? The GRAW textures were UPGRADED for the final release. The early screenshots and demos had low res textures as placeholders.

The 360 and PS3 have 512mb or RAM which is plenty to store high quality textures with the excellent texture compression they have available.

If you want to see a system with low-res textures, look no further than the upcoming Revolution with the estimated 80mb, yes 80mb or RAM

Here is a comment about the so-called low-res GRAW textures from Xboxyde:

"Also, some textures are still in low resolution. This is a january preview code, and everything will be in its right place when the game comes out. Enjoy the show. "

“I’m sure you all remember how everyone had been disappointed by the really bad version of GRAW that was presented at X05. Low resolution textures, bad framerate, aliasing, bugs everywhere, there wasn’t much good to say for this game except a few good ideas. Well a bit more than 3 months GRAW is back and can boast to be the most impressive game I’ve seen running on a Xbox 360. Yes, it’s that good!”

Nice, but I guess they could not get the rights to show an accurate Vegas Skyline, and Bellagio.

I just watched a high res video on IGN of GRAW and the textures looked like crap. Geometry was very clean but had very shitty textures. The picture from the earlier GRAW thread had very very clean textures. Maybe it was touched up or something of the sort, but the textures int eh videos looked like shit compared to teh pictures.

...AND a feature that is highly superior to bump mapping. The revolution isn't about "next gen graphics" anyways, it's about "next gen gameplay".

The developers who have the dev kits said they were worried at first about the HP issue, but once they got the controller up and working they said the graphics didn't matter.
