RACE: The WTCC Game (SimBin)
RACE: The WTCC Game (SimBin)
FYI - The web site for SimBin's followup title to GTR2 has gone live. A simulation of the FIA's World Touring Car Challenge. At the moment, there's more there about the real series than the game but here's the link anyway.

The best part.... I finally get to race my car in a real sim!

I'd bet that hole is for the quick-connect fitting for the air jacks that are built into the car. So when the car is in pit, the crew just plugs an air hose into the fitting and the air jacks will raise the car. Many Touring race cars use this type of device. RTR uses these air jacks in their TSX's and RSX's.

Usually it just looks like a conventional air jack you'd find on any other pneumatic equipment.

Behold the power of the internet. JAS actually replied to my email.
Here is the answer:
to all the people who guessed that it was the air jack.

Here is the answer:
The car has a pneumatic device installed to lift it from the ground (see picture).
To let the jack be filled up by the air you will need a pneumatic quick release HI pressure connection (as picture).
One of the two part (of this connection) must be always fitted directly to the car.
Here you will find an example.
I hope it is clear enough.

Andrea
