R-Type Final for PS2...

Anyone played it? I've read the reviews on IGN and Gamespot but was wondering what your thoughts were...

Thanks!

I have it. its BOOOOOOOoooooooooooring. Slowpaced, boring emeny designs, more than 100 ships those you will never use...R-Type Delta remains the best of the series.

If you want a real fun PS2 shooter, try Gradius V. Highly recommended.

it looks amazing but the cheap price got me susipicous
i read the back of the cover and it said 7 levels
7 levels?
it must be either hard as hell, really long levels, or that short of a game

Well, you know the theme of these games. One little sprite-of-a-spaceship vs. an armada and bullets/lasers/missles flying at you from all 360 degrees...

true
u got the good old X and Y axis
2D freedom of movement
i don't think gradius V uses sprites
its actual 3D models playing from a side view perspective
but the graphics look so goregous
is there slow down??

Can't really tell you there if there is slowdown...that's something another AZ member will have to tell you.

For 99.9% of the time you won't see the slowdown.

Gradius V is for hardcore shump fans, don't buy it if you don't have any skills on these games.

Both Gradius and R-Type are side scrolling shooters.

Oh man, now that is a bad shmup...

Silpheed is easily one of the worst game Treasure ever made considing they are the one responsible for LEGENDS like Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga and yes: GRADIUS V.
