PSP Games...

Which ones do you have so far?

I only picked up "Lumines" so far...After reading about how "Metal Gear: Acid" is a card game, I kinda backed off.

I have slated "NBA Street" and "Mercury" for pickups when they launch...

I have NFSUR. I couldn't find Ridge Racer anywhere. All the places I went to were sold out.

Which one is better, bigman? I'll probably only want one since I don't want to have too many racers with GT for sure as a to-buy for the PSP...

NBA is the only one I've played so far. It's cool. I do have a question for anybody who has NBA. I can't change the qtr. length in the season mode. Can someone tell me if this a set time? I can't find anything about it in the manual or on the games web site.

Next game will be Tiger Woods PGA Tour. Anybody own this one?

Yesterday when I checked it was backordered. It's in stock now.

Saturday and Sunday I went to to 10 different stores in NJ and NYC, no stores had it in stock.

My Costco bundle came with NBA and Twisted Metal... and I got Ridge Racer today but haven't had time to play it yet... (actually, up until a few minutes ago... I was considering returning it),

but out here in Cali... I walked into Circuit City and they had like... 6 Ridge Racers.... but nothing else...

It depends what you like. Wipeout is hot because of the use of weapons and power ups. But my personal favorite of two is Ridge racer. The graphics are a little better, because they are more of what we can relate to as far as street glare and cars. And drifting is fun as shit.

Yep...Metal Gear is a card game. If you are curious, lookit up at www.ign.com...It's not exactly your typical action game. Not quite.

I just like to build characters, its fun getting it to the point of one hit one kill. There is slightly more strategy involved with the newer versions, but its still basically a fun hack-n-slash

it kind of sucks the shoulder buttons arent analog, controls for the psp gt4 are going to be a bit lacking because of it. does anyone know of any quality RPGs coming out?

I have Wipeout Pure and dont really like it. I will be buying Midnight Club Dub Edition and NBA Street for the PSP when the launch. Maybe I would like Ridge Racer better than Wipeout, I just dont like that hover futuristic bull

how is the control on these games? I mean, does it take long to get used to the feel of the controls? yeah I think they could have done better with the control setup... more buttons, better analog stick feel, and oh yeah, 2 analog sticks.

...so, I walked into E.B.Games today, looking for Ridge Racer... and saw the manager hold a copy, while talking to some customer... it turned out... the customer was trying to return it... cause he said he didn't like it... I asked the manager if they had another copy... he said they were sold out... but maybe I can buy off that customer... I talked the guy down to $30, and thank God I didn't pay full price for it... cause Need For Speed-underground (which I also have) is a lot better IMO. The only thing the Ridge Racer has thats kinda cool... is the replay feature... but then again... who really watches the replays? Can't wait til they bring out GT 4 Moblie

You are the first person that thinks underground is better. Underground is good because of the licensed cars and all the mods, but for people that have the console versions, there is no reason to get the psp version. Ridge racer on the other hand offers lots of fun arcade drifting, and tons of awesome tracks and cars. And the sense of speed is awesome in the later levels. I own and enjoy both games. But RR holds a place in my heart because it combines cars and tracks from all the classic RR games.

...yeah, I have to admit.. the drifting is awesome... R.R. doesn't have anything close to it...

but maybe I'll get into it.... it's just weird... going from one game to the other, cause the controling for Underground is a lot more sensitive... and if I play R.R. even just for a couple of games... then going back to Undergound... I get all messed up...

I picked up Tiger Woods golf on Friday. It fun but hard. My first round of 18 was an 88. That's about what I golf normally.

I just spent some time looking at game reviews on IGN for the PSP.....nothing is blowing my skirt up at the moment.

As much as I'd love to have one....I think I shall get doom 3 for the xbox and quench my desire and save myself an assload of cash on something with the games for the moment.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I have more adults that think it's cool than kids. Most of the retailers here are out but I was at Costco today they had 50 of them.

AND... I must say, I had pretty much no interest in buying a PSP, at least anytime soon, UNTIL two things happened:

1) I saw and played one in person

now, that was fine and dandy but still did not push me over the edge.... but this did...

2) I found out the first PSP's are made in Japan, the next batch would be made in China. also, Spiderman 2 would be shipping with the first batch, for only a limited time.

I don't think there is any real implication here, but I just like things that are made in Japan better, over China, for some reason, and for such items as Sony products namely, I think its some heritage thing or something - keepin' it real. or something.
