There's some character/character history carry-over, but no major storyline. If you care that much about the character history, you should play UC1 and UC2 first (get the UC/UC2 dual disk).

Finally...had time to finish Arkham City and play this...beat it tonight.
I'll give it an 8/10
Why do the lack of 2 points? Same damn issue I have with almost every PS3 exclusive game...THE CONTROLS FUCKING SUCK!!!!
Certain parts of levels the camera angle and controls just plain blow and make things REALLY frustrating.
Which is funny because I never really had an control issue with Arkham City (I had the first game on xbox)

That could explain the sensitivity I experienced with player position. If your not standing in the just the right place, you are fucked. Forget about tossing the other guy out a window.

I just beat this. 2 easily the best. 3 had great story especially with the addition of Cutter. Improved fighting and sneaking controls but too repetitive when you fight the big guys. The aim kinda got worse from part 2 though. My marksmanship dramatically decreased. Maybe they made it more realistic I don't know. The last boss, ending, and last section I was disappointed with. Loved the series, can't wait for 4
