PS3 ownders,what receivers are you using?
I am in the market for a new receiver. Just wanted to know what receivers that people are using with their PS3's? I know there have been a few handshake issues while connecting through hdmi. I want something that is going to be able to take advantage of the new hd audio formats. I also know that 1.3 hdmi receivers are going to be out soon. I have the Sony KDSR60XBR1 for my television set,so I will not be able to take advantage of the deep color,but it would be good for Dolby True HD and DTS HD.

I just have one of those all in one Sony home theaters. I bought it at best buy about 6 years ago (gonna upgrade to an HDMI when I move and the prices drop a little bit). I have the PS3 hooked up to my TV through HDMI, but sound goes to my reciever through an Optical cable.

Which Onkyo reveiver do you have? I was looking into getting the TX-SR804,but after reading the AVS Forums page,I found out that there are a few people who are getting a nasty humming noise and they cant figure out where it is coming from. Then there are people who have the TX-SR804 and have no issues at all. I think this is what I am going to go with.Now I just have to wait for my tax check to come back. Thanks for the info.

my ps3 is hooked up via hdmi to my sony hdtv, and than an optical cable to my receiver (denon avr-2805) for sound. haven't had any sound or decoding issues with the denon. my unit is a couple model years old, so i'm guessing the newer denon models should be good too.

What I have is this HTS800. It has HDMI.

I have an older Onkyo model TX NR801 in the living room with the XBox 360, but no HDMI though. In the living room has a Samsung DLP/Onkyo receiver/7.1 THX cert. speakers...
the PS3 is in the bedroom with a Samsung 46" 1080p LCD, since in the bedroom, I don't really watch movies and play games too loud, I'm just using a logitech 5.1 THX surround sound system VVV And it works great, I really don't won't the clutter in the bedroom... so for now this will do fine. Audio connection via optical cable
