I recently got this game from Amazon and couldn't help but notice that the sound seems "off", by that I mean, the sound of Kratos' blades are muffled and I can barely hear the speech of people talking (except Kratos). and I have a pretty old receiver, but I have tried my other games and the sound is fine, even the GOW 3 demo sounds great But in this actual game it seems the center channel is not being used in a lot. What's weird is Kratos' speech is clearly audible (coming out of the center channel), but other characters speech either doesn't come out the center channel, or it barely comes out and as I said before the sounds of Kratos' blades are muffled.

I'm using HDMI for video and optical for audio on my 5.1 system. This set up has been working fine for me with all my other games, but for some reason GOW III the sound seems off. I've tried both 5.1 sound and Dolby Pro Logic II in the options menu, but really no difference, I even tried using HDMI for video and sound, but still the sound is still crappy.

Has anyone else noticed this or do I just need to get a new receiver.

oh man that Hercules fight is bad ass! I almost wanted to reload my save and fight him again.

 

Man, the final battle(s) on the first GoW are pretty infuriating. Especially the swordfight between you and Ares. I admit I suck pretty hard at the game, but I was about ready to have a 'roid rage episode.

 

I was one of those people who bought a ps3 just for this game. It's actually for my girlfriend, she loves the god of war series - played all 4 of them. After 3 days of playing, she beat it today...the graphics in the game plus led tv are amazing

 

I got the game the day it came out. Beat it 2-3 days later, sold it on amazon. MAde money on it (got the game with a gift card.)

Great game, great series...controls SUCKS. Controls always sucked, the lack a of a controllable camera is a huge annoyance. Id say 90% of my deaths where the shitty controls and jumps.

 

this game is so repetitive and boring, I couldn't even make it through the first one on ps2 because I fell asleep.

 

What pisses me off is the handicap between you and whoever you're fighting. There's plenty of bad guys where if you hit them it does damage but doesn't stun them even for a second. However when you get hit you're immobile for what seems like 5 seconds. And when they all gang up on you and chain together 3 or 4 hit combos, it gets annoying.

 

Almost done with God of War 2. I had to restart the game because of a damn bug... I pulled one of the switches, door opens, I don't get to it in time, door closes, but the switch doesn't reset. wtf.

 

Started GoW3 a few weeks ago. The Aphrodite scene was really lol. It was just so cheesy, I couldn't help but laugh.

 

Been playing it the last few days. Seems somewhat anticlimactic after the frenzy of Bayonetta LOL. I get back into the bad habit of just mashing all the control buttons which doesn't work a well for GOW3 LOL. Graphics are awesome. I hate that I can't control the camera angle. Moving those stupid incendiary crates around can be exceedingly frustrating if I'm at some wack angle. Anyhoo, still in Hades trying to make my way to the Flame of Olympus. Still need the 3rd Gorgon eye. I suck at this game.

Just finished the game. It gets pretty crazy the last hour or so of the game. However IMO (hopefully not spoiling anything) the final battle(s) with Zeus weren't as climactic or "epic" as they were in God of War 2. However that first fight when you're on that ledge was pretty badass.

 

I thought the end kind of dragged on from the ledge until all the wandering around in the dreamlike fugue. Was a good game but not as good as Uncharted 2 IMO.
