PS3 DVD playing sound problem
whenever I watch a DVD on my PS3 the sound is very faint, for example when running through my stereo OR my TV video games get played at around 15-18...but DVD's need 30+ and even then voices are faint.
I have an old sony reciever hooked up to a L & R and subwoofer (I know i know, how can I not have surround sound; I was about to buy a denon reciever and some new speakers but that's been put on hold).
When running the PS3 to the TV directly for my sound it uses HDMI, but when running it to my reciever it goes through an optical cable.
How shold I have the PS3 sound settings set?

Yeah I usually have to crank up DVDs about 10 notches too.
Make sure the PS3 is set to output to 2.0, because I believe most 5.1 soundtracks send the dialog to the center channel, which isn't there on your system.
