processor ????

ok i know this is probebly the wrong forum but o well. im trying to find out the different between 2 processors in 2 different laptops and i really cant find it out.
im looking at officedepot.com

the first processor is a Intel® Core™ Duo T2250 Processor

and the second is a Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor T2080

other than that the laptops are similar. the second one has a ever so slightly higher video memory

here is the first laptop

Toshiba Satellite® A135-S4427 15.4" Widescreen Notebook Computer With Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology And Intel® Core™ Duo T2250 Processor

and the second is Toshiba Satellite® A135-S4527 15.4" Widescreen Notebook Computer With Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor T2080

if you hop on officedepot.com and type copy and paste it into the key word box they will show up. im not looking for any thing super extravigant but need something while im here in iraq. to hold pictures video's screw around online and download music and instant messenger.

if anyone else has any good idea's on any others also that would be great im not looking to spend too much. i have to save some money. 6-700 range is preferable.
both of those have a $150 rebate

thanks in advance

The 2250 has 2mb of L2 cache, or 1mb per core, the 2080 has 1mb of L2 cache for 512k per core.

It won't make much of a difference, but get the 2250 if you can. More cache never hurts.

Been meaning to ask, what the heck does that mean, ever so slightly more?

They go in steady block jumps, 128 or 256 usually. IE, 256mb ram, 512mb, 768, 1gb, etc

higher L2 cache can make more of a difference than higher clock speed under heavy use conditions

i thought it was funny too. but i was looking at the officedepot website and it said one of them had like 30mb more of video memory. it could have been a typo but who knows i think im going to go with the cheaper one. because if they are fairly close in performance they will be outdated around the same time so ill have to get another one here in a few years.

thanks for the help guys
