Me and my buddy decided to start 1.6 up again and wanted to see if anyone from the Tri-State area played on the A-Zine forums that'd be interested in playing slightly competitive. I personally played since May of 00 and played competively since then but obviously don't have as much time to dedicate to it as I was in college full-time. Anyones that is interested respond or PM me.

 

man i havent played cs in a while....1.6 for a few months then stopped when i moved out of boston. that was one game i could play 24/7 no matter how bored i was

does anyone play counterstrike on this forum? just wondering and if a lot of people do, then we should all get together and play.

and by counterstrike, i dont mean that garbage they call counterstrike "source"

 

1.6 is for the people who can't afford source, or who are too obsessed with 1.6 to start over in the better game, source

i quit playing that habitually at 1.5 and randomly played once 1.6 came out, and then down right quit once source came out

 

correction: source is for those people who start over in a new game because they were never good enough in 1.6.

my playing ability in source and 1.6 is equal but source is just "blah" to me. i dont like the map layouts and everything just seems to dark and dreary. i cant believe i paid for source when it came out. biggest waste of money EVER. even DOD source is nothing compared to DOD.

 

i didnt mind the makeover? I played the original CS and DOD avidly, and enjoy the new ones much more....

 

Anyone play CSS? I am trying to get back in the game, looking forward to playing with some Azine members.
I stopped playing CSS back in early 07, so how is the community? Still lots of custom maps and people or is it a ghost town now?

 

I play 1.6 and never got into Source. From what i see, CS is still hugely popular.

I used to play Counter-Strike quite a bit... always loved Unreal Tournament much more

But no really CS was fun... but it's pretty lame playing a FPS where every person has a sniper rifle and just camps at one end of a corridor. Not to mention about 90% of the servers were playing the same. exact. maps. as everyone else. aztec, dust/dust2/dust59, etc.

 

I used to piss off all the awpers by scouting them or taking them out with the m4

CS:GO says video card must be 256 MB or more and should be a DirectX 9-compatible with support for Pixel Shader 3.0. Would my Intel HD Graphics IHD2000 integrated card support this game?

If so, I'm gonna get it.

 

u can always turn off shadows... i turn mine down as it is gfx card intense on the gpu...
