PC Peripherals

Just curious, what do you guys use? Stock equipment? If you could list prices or approximations too, that would be great. Some of us are cheap, broke, or both

Anyone try one of those "gaming" mouse pads? I like having my cushy gel mouse pad, since I grip my mouse claw style or whatever it's called. It's time to retire my old G5. I plan to replace it with a G9x, it's going for a nice price at the moment.

using the stock keyboard cause I like the design, having all the volume controls on there and because I'm cheap

Got some 2.1 sound system from my old job, still serving me faithfully 4 years later. Retailed for $200, got it for $40

Picked up a 21.5" Acer LCD for $110 shipped to go with my computer. I may upgrade in the future, but it does 1080p for the right price, so I'm happy. I'm still getting used to it, after using a 17" laptop that maxed out at 1440 x 900 (?) for years.

I have a Dell 21.5 LCD monitor (500,000:1) contrast I bought last year for $199.99. Its pretty nice and quality is great.

I like Razer products a lot since they are built well. Got a Razer Carcharias as my headset and these Altec Lansing 2.1 speaker system I bought on clearance at Target for 30 bucks! (original $80) Razer Deathadder is my gaming mouse and I do have a gaming mouse pad which is works really well for gaming and when I do any graphics design. Also, I have a The Razer Onza TE gaming I bought for $50 at Frys which is great for playing racing games and fighting games.

Still have a stock keyboard because of the ease of access to many windows controls, but I tried my friend Razer Starcraft 2 keyboard and it is nice, but I don't know if I want to spend $100 on it.

Twin 25" 1920x1080 Hanns-G monitors

Acer USB Laser mouse and an old Dell keyboard (I prefer the feedback and feel)

Logitech speakers (old but sound great with treble and bass knobs)

Turtle Beach 5.1 surround sound headphones with mic

I bought a das keyboard a couple of years ago (before they had models with print on them). I still can't find the ^ reliably. I do love the feeling of switches instead of rubber membrane though. I think it was around 100 bucks.

I think my favorite thing is my 27 inch monitor though. It is a acer B273hu, but unfortunately they don't make it anymore so I can't get the second one I had planned on. It has OK quality and had a great stand/ 4port usb hub, but it's certainly not a dell ultrasharp. It was a little under 400.

My mouse is a Logitech Revolution MX, which is kinda crappy for gaming, but very comfortable for everything else. I love the scroll wheel that changes depending on the program I am using. I also have a logitech g7, but it has battlefield 2142 written all over it. I hate that flashy gamer crap.

I'm using a Razer Lachesis mouse ($60), a Logitech G15 keyboard ($50) and a Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset ($40).

The mouse is pretty good. When coupled with the Razer software, it allows you to change sensitivity to user-defined preset amounts by a button. It has 4 buttons (2 on the left side and 2 on the right (note: the right buttons are almost impossible for me to actually press)) that can be assigned any key or macro. This can be very useful for often used actions such as zooming in or crouching.

The G15 is great. It has a bunch of macro keys, it's back lit and it has a nice big LCD display. The LCD supports a lot of apps and can be used to show all of your hardware sensor readouts. The buttons are soft yet still have a nice "click" to them. It also has a few USB ports if you're into that.

The headset isn't top of the line, but is certainly a great value. The audio quality is way better than my 5 watt speakers and I don't have to worry about waking up the roommates. The mic is a little weak, but it is removable and there are better replacement mics if you want to upgrade.

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 from 2001! Stock 15" monitor with Geforce 2 graphics card, 512 RAM, 1.8GHZ processor, new hard drive because stock one already crashed.

As far as peripherals, I'm still using stock keyboard and speakers. Only non stock thing I'm using is a Logitech M500 mouse. I've run through about 10 mice. Oh and I have a Rocketfish gaming mouse pad that was like $8 and works great.

I only play cs so the set up works fine for me...
