Last year, it was like a regular game of madden. This year, the only difference i see is that you get a player specific view of your player, and you don't call the plays. But is there a way to make it so that you can't control any of the other players or snaps or even just fast forward to the next series that your character will play in?
Please let me know! Thanks!

I believe the answer to your question is no. I'm almost positive I read that the 360 version of Madden is the only one that has the features you're looking for...

Thanks for the response, i actually found a way to do what i'm talking about! If you hit pause, it takes you to the screen where you can go to roster, settings, etc. Under the scoreboard, there is something called "Team Control" which you can set to User or CPU. If set to CPU, the computer plays until you are brought in the game or if you're starting, you play until special teams and the offense/(or defense) takes the field. It's pretty cool in a way.

Ahh, so it is available on all versions. Good to know. I think in the 360 version you don't have the ability to toggle it on/off like you do in the PS2 version. That maybe what I read...

A lot of new features which I thought was pointless, i.e. bench press / 40 yard dash.

I turned it off after 3 quarters..couldn't stand the poor quality commentary and gameplay. I'll just stick with Win eleven 9 until NBA live comes out.

No playing skills editing only for the 360? man.....

bench press and 40 yard dash aren't really pointless but they are ridiculously hard. Best I got with each is 4.55 with DeAngelo Hall (Speed: 98) and 17 reps with Larry Allen (Strength: 98?) its also really easy to stumble in the 40, is there a certain way to do it? I hold down one analog stick before the gun, then afterwards alternate pushing the sticks down then letting go of them.

Picked up the PS2 version for $37.99 from CC.

So far, I love the graphics and the sound. The defense is a bit too dumb for my liking and I can put up 300+ yards passing easily (I also give up that much as well...). I think I will up the difficulty to see if that makes a difference.

Maaden 07 Online on XBox 360??

Anyone tried Madden 07 on-line via the XBox 360 yet? I tired to play 2 games, and never got out of the first quarter. Everytime I would try to call an audible, the game appeared to lock up causing me to reboot the damn console.

So far, the on-line play is simply outrageously terrible

I've never played Madden below All-Pro or All-Madden, so I can't talk to what you've experienced... but upping the difficulty will bring your stats, both offensive and defensive... down a bit. Passing will also become much more difficult as the CB's will jump routes on the higher levels...

No offense, but you must not be a Madden fan to be saying that. Last year's Madden for the 360 was one of the worst Maddens ever made. It got some of the lowest reviews ever for a Madden game in the history of the franchise.

So for you to say it's awesome, then to go and compare it to last year's pathetic effort on the 360 really doesn't help your comment to hold water.

YOU may like it... but industry wide (and fan wide... go to any forum and you'll see them ripping the 360 version) it's a flop.

OK that helps a little

I never played Madden 2006 on the regular XBOX, so I can't compare. I did have it for the PS2 though... and Madden 2006 on the PS2 blows away the 360 version in every way except graphics... which is why I'm swapping out my 360 Madden 07 for the PS2 version this weekend...

The gameplay on the Xbox version of Madden 06 is the exact same as the PS2 version. That goes for Madden 07 as well.

Ahh, so then we're back to his original comment making no sense since the 360 version blows compared to Madden 2006 on the PS2 and XBOX with the exception of graphics...

Still I think madden 2007 for 360 is a lot of fun. The only thing lacking is owner mode so I cant move a team. But I never play online with Madden so I don't know how the online experience is.

Wireless or wired??

Quick question to those of you playing Madden 07 on the 360. When you play on-line are you using the wireless controllers or the wired ones?

I took the game back, and got a new copy and played almost a complete game. That is until I had 1 minute left in the game, playing against someone when I call an audible and the damned game locks up again. Pissing me off

I went ahead and got the Nyko fan as well, but that did not appear to help. I checked the unit afterwards and it's blowing some crazy hot air back :o

Another Superstar: Hall of Fame mode question?!?!? PS2

Hey again, i have ANOTHER question regarding Hall of Fame mode on the PS2. Is there a way to have Madden and Michaels give commentary while playing in Superstar? All i get is the PA announcer. Just wondering if you can turn on madden commentary. thanks!

Nope madden is with NBC now and will not be able to do play by play commentary.

Madden 07 360 On-line & Locked permissions in Online Lobby??

Trying to figure this one out, basically if I go into an On-Line lobby in Madden 07, it tells me the following;

LOCKED: Your prvileges do not allow communications

What do I need to do to get my privileges up so I can actually do something in the On-line lobby??

ANyone have any clues?

Well, my system came with wireless controllers, so that is all I use for any game, regardless of on-line or not. FWIW, I played about 6-7 games of Madden this weekend and it did not lock up or freeze or anything at any point... May be your 360...

Not 100% positive, but i think the answer is no. In Superstar mode I believe it's supposed to be like you are in the game itself... therefore, all you hear is the crowd, field noise, and stadium announcer...

Madden and Michaels are the commentators in every other version of Madden 2007 except the 360. Again, not sure why EA changed the game so much on the 360, but that's just another item that us 360 owners got boned on...

I haven't read the board, but i'm not surprised one bit! I've been a favorite of Madden forever, even though i thought ESPN NFL2k5 was great, i still liked Madden for the overall feel. I thought once EA bought the rights to ESPN and the sole rights to the NFL, they would combine the features of both games to make one awesome football game! There definitely needs to be some improvement in next years game, or i will not be reserving or anticipating with excitement to get it the day it comes out. It's become ridiculous in my opinion. And i feel bad for you guys with the 360. I played last years. Outstanding graphics, but missing so much. From the reviews of this years, it seems like they haven't done much to make up for it.

^ Well the 360 version this year blows away last year's... however, it still falls well short of the PS2 and XBOX versions. This is my first experience with the 360 and I must say, so far it's been a shitty one...

Well, Madden was just exchanged. Swapped out the 360 version for the PS2 version. Should be able to try it out a little later today. From what I read I'm not too worried, but now I'm excited again to be able to play a real version of Madden

.

I forgot about those defensive hot routes. I really liked how I could just click the right joystick and I would see where my guy was supposed to cover, as opposed to exposing everything. Hit stick is almost unusable now, but this is a lot better than having everyone only use the hit stick to tackle.

Just a follow-up, played two games on the PS2 last night.... man, what a difference. Sure it doesn't look as pretty, but who cares... gameplay is spot on. Everything that is wrong wit the 360 version is fixed in the PS2 version. I'll be staying away from the next-gen systems for a while until they prove they can get things right...

Well, this Madden fiasco was the last straw. I returned my 360 last night. Gotta love Costco

I was looking forward to Test Drive Unlimited, but considering that and Battlefield 2 are the only games on the system I would play, really not worth it. I'll wait for PS3.

madden for the ps2 this year was such garbage. im selling mine on ebay right now...if anyone is interested, go here to bid on it.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MESE%3AIT&rd=1

such rehash as opposed to 2006. im not trying to bash madden because ive been a madden fanatic for many years now but giving us updated rosters and making slight changes to the gameplay and animation wont cut it anymore. i definitely wont be giving madden any more of my money in future years unless signigicant upgrades are being made.

^ I find it hard to believe that you've been playing Madden for years if you're complaining that this year's is a version of last year's with the exception of a few small changes. That's exactly how Madden is EVERY year. They've been doing it that way since the series was introduced on the Sega Genesis.

Small gameplay features, a few new tackling animations, some new sound clips, and retitle the game Madden for the current year... then release and sell for $50. Combine that with the fact that the PS2 is probably on it's last legs for Madden and it becomes even clearer.
