Funny...the one I ordered from gamestop thursday night arrived today. I sold it to a friend who was dying for one.

I'm not into schilling, hate that shit. Happy to pass it on to a friend, for what I paid, who just wants to play the thing.

i was lucky enough to score one at midnight last fri! too bad i've only played it for like 40min because the gf is HOOKED. i really haven't played video games in a decade so was looking fwd to this and have been pleased ... well except for the 2.5' controller cord!

^ That was one of the big criticisms I've read.
Supposedly, wireless remotes are on the way, along with cord extensions.

Here the real problem...its not that cords are short. You HAVE to be by the machine to use the rest button, which is how you save games and change games.

I've got it set up where it works well.

Funny, my old NES stopped working recently. I think I just have to clean it, but still kind of frustrating it doesn't work when I want it to. I guess the old NES' are out of style since I don't think these games look too well on an HDTV unless you upscale it like this does.

Double Dragon sucks...haha, I loved it as a kid. Trying to play it now it painful. Same with Bubble Bobble, I loved that one, too.

Startropics super sleeper. Came out the year before the SNES so overlooked. No idea who the bad guys were in that game. Kind of a tropical version of Zelda

I looked at the Walmart website for the NES, and not once did it slip below the cost of $499.96 at or near 5PM.

I wanted one bad, but none seem to be coming available. I just ordered a raspberry pie and am going to build a little emulator box. There's a custom build called retro pie which has all the emulators built in, you just have to copy the roms over and your good to go. NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, PSX all on the same little box.

NES really screwed the pooch with how they handled this...they do it with every release but this one seems especially bad. This could turn a lot of people off of the Switch if they pull the same shit with that release.

i was lucky enough to score one the night they first came out. However, i got bored quick so sold it used for $150. Not bad because it was $65 with tax.

My friend is building a Raspberry Pi, and he hooked it up and programmed a sound card with R2D2 sounds, and is building it into a R2 bank with lights, etc.

Nintendo Classic Mini NES is being discontinued €¢ Eurogamer.net

Nintendo's hot ticket retro item, the Classic Mini NES, is being discontinued, at least in North America.

"Throughout April, NOA territories will receive the last shipments of Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition systems for this year," Nintendo said in a statement to IGN.

"We encourage anyone interested in obtaining this system to check with retail outlets regarding availability. We understand that it has been difficult for many consumers to find a system, and for that we apologise. We have paid close attention to consumer feedback, and we greatly appreciate the incredible level of consumer interest and support for this product."

Nintendo further noted to IGN that the "NES Classic Edition wasn't intended to be an ongoing, long-term product. However, due to high demand, we did add extra shipments to our original plans."

Guess mine will become worth something...too bad my kids would kill me if I ever sold it.

I see lots of people online saying how stupid nintendo because of money, etc etc etc. What they dont get it that Nintendo doesn't care about the money. They have a cash reserve that can last them a good long time.

Plus, I wonder if this bears credence to the rumors that they want to release different versions with different games. So, could a new one with all different games be coming?

I think this is to not cannibalize Switch sales in the future. Granted you can't find a Switch at the moment but the Wii U fell off quickly and they want to avoid that. Virtual Console games have always been on sale for previous Nintendo systems and they're like $5 minimum with no discounts that I've heard of (meanwhile Sony/MS have several sales). So yeah you'll pay $8 for Super Mario World in 2017. Software sales drive this industry, not the hardware at least at a per unit sale profit margin.

I dont know. I play the switch...my kids are playing the classic. And sometimes its nice to go back to the old 8 bit, side scrolling non 3D, non open world games. Satiates a different appetite.

I managed to get an order in at gamestop at midnight the night before the release

And then I waited in a line at 8am for about 30 minutes and scored another.

Coming back for sale starting June 29 and is expected to be available through the end of the year.
