Thumbs down NFS Most Wanted PSP version... are they all this bad?

A couple 5 hour flights for the holidays encouraged me to pick up a new game for the PSP. I've been playing a lot of first person shooters so I grabbed a racing game. I played the NFS Most Wanted on XBOX 360 for a couple hours and liked the storyline aspect so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I'm mostly disappointed the story aspect of the game has been shelled, but I've managed I'm currently in the latter half of the game trying to get the Porsche unlocked. After playing this long enough I've learn to accept a few things...

I'll accept the cop cars that go 240 mph and turn on such a dime that the Ferrari Formula 1 must drive like a minivan in comparison, since that's just part of the game.

I'll accept the Audi TTs that go 240 mph and can turn like its on rails since one of the developers must own one of those seeing that every Audi TT in the game drives like a freaking Le Mans LP.

I'll accept the completely unrealistic physics of the game play, especially during a "speedbreaker".

But what totally irritates me in ANY racing game is when the competition has a different set of physics rules to follow than me.

If my racing line launches me 400 feet in the air, it damn well do it for the competition too.

If I can't take a turn at 205 mph, then my competition better not be able to either.

If I have to brake they have damn well better have to brake too and if they don't, I want to see them in the same wall I just went into.

One thing I love about Gran Turismo is when I improve my lap speed by 5 seconds ( a HUGE amount in most racing games ) my overall placement generally improves as well. The first place Audi I'm racing generally doesn't improve by the same margin. Then again Gran Turismo doesn't have oncoming traffic...

Despite all this I've been slowly making my way through the game, but can I expect this from the entire NFS series? If so this is my first and last NFS.

Yes, the NFS series has turned more into Arcade style than the simulation it used to be in the first two.

Still, I have Most Wanted on my PC and I just got Carbon for the PS3 and I find them fun. You just have to take it for what it is. And yes, the cops that go 240 mph really piss me off!

I finally got through the race that was giving me so much grief, the one with the 3 hairpins back to back and the gas station shortcut. I actually caved and bought the Audi and maxed the mods for it, it gets through that course very well, I still barely made it through with the mods that were available. It's nice having NOS on my Carrera (that race is what unlockes it for the Porsche).

I just unlocked the Ford GT... the Police Vans doing 240 with me is just insanity.
