I just decided to pick this up on the Xbox.
I had the 1st one on cube and it was cool, got annoying and frusrtating after awhile though.
Right off the bat this one seems more immersive, which I like. I even like the comicish way to play the story mode...which IGN panned.
Game has a style, graphics are awesome...and Im sure 2 looks even better cause im playing xbox and not cube aside from the expecting it to be better being its a sequel.
Just kinda getting started and getting a feel for everything, but it seems cool enough. I should have some fun with it.
I dont have Live, but I wonder how the online play is.

I rented it from blockbuster because like everyone else i played the 1st one for a few days, beat it then it got old, but this game is different.
I love it, i like being able to drive around and do different events. A huge improvement is that its not the same road fliped, twisted, and backwards. I really hated that about the last game.
One cool thing is that you can buy hydrolics and while driving around start bouncing. The right joy stick is like a 10 switch box. Its pretty cool.
Also you can customize ur trunk with amps, tv's, neons, subs. You can put a wide body kit on, lambo doors, and split hood.
I really love this game and if im not tired of it after 5 days then i will buy it but i dont think that i will be tired of it!
ps: I have a fully customed civic with about everything done to it, i just bought a tiburon and and starting to fix it up, i also noticed that each car sounds different and thats cool.
COMPTECH IS IN THE GAME!!!! i have stickers on my civic

I really like the outrun feature, where you pick a race on the streets while exploring. If youre the lead car then you choose wherever you want to go, free roaming racing. Really helps you learn how to control whatever car youre driving.
also looked at the quick race game. funny 2 cars you didnt think you would in an underground race type game...GTO and Escalade...I guess more for the custom fact.
I raced with a GTO for the hell of it. Nice engine sound, fast as hell, no handling. really have to let off teh gas and hit it again a lot to regain stability.

oh, another find aside from being able to race SUVs as well.
YOu can really fine tune your aftermarket parts for whatever types of racing you want. there is a dyno...but you can really get in and manually set up your suspension and ecu and everything...and yes, it really does affect the performance of teh car.
pretty cool.

'Big Daddy Diggler'
i have the PC version. It looks 10 times better than my brothers X box version, plus i have been running the game a 60 plus Frames per second. I just finished working my RX-8. I have been able to squeeze 532 horses and 276 torque with tuning. And that is with a relatively flat hp and torque curve. I have gotten 576 hp and 315 tq peak, but with a loss of low end power. this game rocks.

What, no stickers for extra hp? ![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Actually, I like the customization options they've built into this version. Haven't played yet, but it looks like I could spend a lot of time in the garage!

Pit Stop?
I've always said these types of games are a ricer's paradise..........with what you guys have posted (pics) and what I've seen of my friend's rides, I'm correct.
You shouldn't have to put all those disgusting mods on just to progress in the game

I hate rice just as much as anyone. But at the same time its still fun make all these crazy cars and race.
And...I would have to say, if the car is actually being tracked or professionally used...I would call it rice...but you wouldnt see it driving on the streets then either...another topic for another thread...
Anyway, the game is fun period.

this game has absolutely the ugliest and most horrendous bodykits, wheels, and mods I have ever seen in any game. how you can mod the stereo system, the amount of variations of colors and nozzle configurations for the NAWS jets (colored NAWS??? - honestly there must be like 40 different configs just for this alone), the variations of hoods, etc, etc, etc, such as half-opening hoods that open to the sides, split horizontally and open like a clamshell kinda, its just amazingly ricey and makes you wonder who the hell came up with all this stuff. The interface is so deep that its hard to find what you want, I don't really like the menu system but its nice that you can press the right mouse button to go back from certain option screens. the NAWS effect is great, I especially like the blur effect on the taillights - to me it seems better-looking than it was in the first game.... also the different tracks are a welcome addition, the first game's track and its variations got boring fast.
this game is a ricer's dream - but oddly enough it is also great enjoyment for people who hate ricers, because its funny to play with everything and see how geto you can get your car looking and sounding... I will post pics of what we came up with soon.
the physics are actually quite decent in this game, I like the feeling of the wheel when you are in a drift and have to counter, the force feedback feels surprisingly realistic.. I haven't played much, and actually I don't care to like, go through the entire game and win everything blah blah blah so I just downloaded a full complete game save and loaded that so I could play with everything.
call me a cheater but I don't have the time or patience to sit through this entire game and complete everything, it's not worth my time...

I like NFSU 2 for its better driving realism and engine sounds, but NFSU 1 was far user friendly.

because I have GAMECUBE i feel it's the best import racing game out there. we don't have gran turimo
you can customize cars. and it's a lot like real world of racing .
earn money= dumping it back into the car.
I had a 00 Civic Si
with stage 2 turbo, Cold air intake, cams, headers, cat back exhaust, intake manifold, carbon fiber hood, spoiler(which was like a WRX STi spoiler),body kit, 18 inch rims WITH SPINNERS(incase i have a ghetto race), hydros, N20(stage 2)(with jet on the top of the hood and down on the front of the body kit(like in 2fast2furios),coilovers,sways, blisten shocks, Kick Amps, toyos, performance differential, and some other misc crap.
new Mustang GT=25,000 bucks
enter into street race=150 bucks
face of the 2005 Mustang GT owner getting smoked by a Civic Si=Priceless
I put that on the dyno(on the game) i was pulling 0-60's around 4.4 seconds
which is a little faster than a WRX Sti.
the only thing is I'd still in real life take a WRX Sti over a built Si. even the good ones(late 90's to 01) . their built heavier plus they handle AWESOME.
The music trax on it rock. Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe.
overall on a scale of 1-10(1 beening LAME and 10 being off the hook)
I'd give it a 9.
