ya, for ball, everyone says 2K9 is better.
for hockey, everyone says EA's NHL'09 is better

 

I actually prefer Live. I love the whole DNA thing it has.

 

i use to be a Live fan until last year. now i have 2K9 and it'd take a big improvement for me to switch back.

OP, why not rent both and see which you like better

2k9 til i die. I use to like Live but it went downhill after 2004. I played one game of Live 09 and haven't played it since.

 

i want to get a basketball game, but it just sucks that in a year it'd be outdated.

 

i fell in love with the 2k series since 2k2...i havne't played any since and recently played 2k9...let me tell you..the damn game is awesome! never really liked the way live playe

 

i hate that too about all sports game. 1 year life span, but that's how they get our $$$

im still on 2k8... i was just playing on xbox live the only way i play ... 5 games. and only completed 2 ... everybody quits. im debating on 2k9 still because of this one reason

2k9 all the way to me live feels fake. I dont like it at all i was never a fan of live

 

i just bought 2k9 today its overall an improvement of 2k8... i cant wait to try live hopefully they fix all the issues with not receiving wins for ppl who drop on you.

 

despite the bugs in this year's version, I still say 2K9 all the way. Live has sucked for......well forever.

 

to me live is better online.... but they still didnt fix that problem with giving u wins when the other person drops on u, matter fact my dnc rating went up because of people quitting on me

 

I just bought live for ps3 and I really enjoy it so far especially the 365 updates. Then again, I have never played any of the 2k series.

 

go get 2k its way better or see if one of your friends has it and see if u can play it

 

2k's cool but they gotta fix the glitch with the rosters, some teams hve their star plyrs inactive

 

yea 2k does have the glitch only way i would get live is if somone bought it for me as a gift.

 

Not to mention ESPN broadcasting live while you're in the menu screens or practicing is awesome. And the fact that you can save your good instant replays and upload them to easportsworld and have them viewed and possibly put into the top vids of the day.

 

for those who have 2k9 and had 2k8.... how the hell do you play defense in this game?? i used to play shutdown (or close to it) on 2k8 now im lost... haha

 

FYI...I have 2k9, and I adjusted all my player/cpu game sliders to make the gameplay more realistic, and closer to the actual NBA...It has made a HUGE difference!

I didn't think the computer or your own team played defense well at all with the original settings

the problem is i like to play on xbox live and you cant adjust sliders for online play :-\
