I cant believe what a PITA it is to register on XBox live. first, it says it wont work with my wireless because NAT is moderate. so I run a cable along the damn floor to it and ok NOW its ok with that (need to figure that sh*t out). now, ive spent about 10 minutes trying to create a goddamn live id. none of my existing Windows Live / messenger emails work, it keeps giving me these stupid ass errors. oh and these are my alternate MSN id's. for my main one I actually use, oh fawk that, I cant even use that, it says its associated with a different gamertag - how on earth is that possible, ive never done anything on xbox live before. this is so moronic. POS

Opening your nat is VERY simple... There are numerous videos on youtube that will take care of that in less than 5 min...

Put the cable away.. No need.


For your gamertag.. Most people make a specific live/hotmail account specifically for xbox... I suggest doing that... Make it the same as your desired gamertag for easy remembering...

spent about an hour trying to get NAT open today. unsuccessful. it still says on Xbox that mine is moderate.

I went in the router and saw where NAT was set to secure, and I changed that to open. I also set port forwarding, per the links I saw. I reset the modem after every change. I don't know what else to try really.

Halo Reach is totally overrated. what the f is up with the aiming system? you just aim to the middle circle? I guess I'm so happy with COD's aiming system where you aim for every gun. But just a circle in the middle of the screen? If Bad Company makes COD play like an arcade shooter, then COD makes Halo Reach play like a kindergarten game. The movement just sucks. It was moderately "fun" to play with my friends, but I have way more fun with COD. The axe was fun to use, but a tad overpowered. Hell even the flags in CTF are overpowered, they are like axes. I was killing people trying to stop me like nothing. The music SUCKS!!! I think I'll have to turn that crap off. I enjoyed it on older Halo versions but damn, its like some Rainbow Brite version of the Batman theme. The guns aren't particularly fun. The main rifle is so boring. It has no feel - and it takes like 40 hits to kill a guy? Seriously? The vehicles were pretty fun to use. I don't understand how you can hop on the side of that big ass tank when someone is inside it and punch it a few times and destroy it, though. LMAO. My friends didn't like when I did that to them though. I also thought the maps were relatively boring. Got tired of them QUICK. I mean we only played for a few hours! The Forge mode seems interesting, whatever it is. I'm guessing it would take a long time to design a custom map like that though. Oh and you can't run in multiplayer mode? at least with split-screen? WTF is that? Load times are slow.

Maybe I have the wrong attitude for a game like this, but damn, I'll take COD over this any day. I used to enjoy Halo back in the day. Maybe my tastes have just 'matured'?

Ok do I have anything good to say about Halo Reach? Hmm. It was good fun with friends. Glad to see the sword is in the game. Although it was not as satisfying to use as the first time I remember it - there used to be this "charge" mode where you would run up real fast and stab with it. Either its not there anymore or I don't know how to do it. The vehicles were fun. That's about it. I think its totally overrated, I can't believe all the good reviews it keeps getting.

 

i could probably diagnose a lot of your issues... but as many as you are seeming to have.. its clear you just dont like the game.

I'm open to hearing your input, if it's just a matter of me doing something the wrong way. If its just personal preference, I guess I can't do much about that.

 

The first rule of enjoying a game is to not to compare it to your favorite game..

Halo is not CoD therefore you should not expect it to be.. All differences are on purpose.

Not sure what you mean by the aiming system... Does every game not have a similar circle or dot to aim with.. Whats the huge difference there?

4-5 shots to the head will make for a quick kill.. halo is known for having extended life when in gun fights with other players... (this goes back to the whole "halo is not CoD" issue)
people who can aim well, get the kill.. those who shoot the mid-section of others will die... lol

side note: "SWAT" is going to have its own playlist soon, it is one shot kills to the head and 3-4 to the body.. if you want quicker kills... i suggest you play in this area..

Cant run on split screen? Of course you can... You can run in any mode with the sprint armor ability equipped....

The CTF flag... It is a one hit kill bc you are a flag carrier.. You are very vulnerable... If people are running up to you while carrying it, they're doing it wrong... its very easy to kill the carrier with a weapon as they are defenseless while holding it..

halo has always done this... spartans are superhumans... that is all lol.

"lunge" is still available in the game, once the aiming system turns red, you can lunge from a pretty good distance to stab your enemy, this hasnt changed much since the early days of halo..



from your complaints... i'd say you just dont like the game
and thats ok.. i know people who are the same way... the ones i know are usually big time CoD fans..
