XBOX 360 Elite available on BestBuy.com
Saw on slickdeals that Bestbuy.com had the Elite available...went to check it out and added it to my cart...proceeded to checkout and there was a 10% discount. After tax and $8 for shipping, every thing came out to $475.73. Suite!!!

****Only mistake I made was not adding Forza 2 to the cart.
Follow these easy steps:
1. Sign in to BestBuy.com using the same e-mail address that this e-mail was sent to.
2. Place qualifying item(s) in your cart. If you cancel all or part of your order, or if you

Looks like Bestbuy messed up...according to the rules, it doesn't look like the Elite should've been discounted!

Who here has purchased an XBOX 360 or 360 Elite from Best Buy.com? I have some concerns about how they shipped it. It came in a box barely bigger than the OEM box w/ no peanuts or bubble wrap. I know how shit gets tossed around when shipped. Anyone have the same experience...if so, how has your 360 held up?

I posted pics of my elite a few pages back about how bad it was shipped from BestBuy.com
To be honest, I haven't had the chance to hook it up yet. The interior carton of the xbox is cushioned so I'm not too worried. I should have emailed BestBuy because anytime something like this happens I always speak up. It's my money and I expect to get treated properly, or at least adequately and this shipment to me was sub-standard.
If you do contact BestBuy, include me in on it to and let them know it's NOT an isolated incident and I have the pics to back it up.

While we all waited at the theater for Transformers I took a stroll to gameStop and came across this:
They finally released a black intercooler to match the elite
http://www.nyko.com/nyko/products/?i=116
Side Note:
On the casing for the intercooler was a black wireless usb adapater plugged into an elite. I didn't know they released a black wireless USB adapter for the elite.

1) my brother-in-law is living with us while he is finishing up his last couple quarters at school. he's hooked up 360 to our big screen, so I don't really need to hook up my elite just yet.
2) i also just hooked up our Wii last saturday and have been having fun playing on it too
3) I primarily was going to wait till August to get the elite so that I could have it when Halo 3 came out. They kept getting sold out and rather than run the risk of never getting one, I got it earlier than I planned. when Halo 3 comes out, my elite will be hooked up so that I can play on live.
getting the elite is a lot cheaper than buying the premium/pro bundle. Saves $100 in the end because of the hard drive. worthwhile IMO. Now had I got in on that 10% sale too, that woulda been awesome.

Warning: The Nyko intercooler is a mother fucking piece of shit. Pure garbage, basura. Don't get it just because it matches now. Hell, don't even get it period. Its so fucking useless that all it can serve as is a paperweight - its so cheap and lightweight that it would probably break if you used it as a doorstop.
My 360 has some slight problems with lag during offline play so I suspected it was the heat. I ignored what everyone said and couldn't wait for M$ to fix it so I tried out the Intercooler as a quick fix. Nope. Didn't work for shit. My 360 wouldn't even turn on with the Intercooler hooked up. I made sure the contacts were touching and everything but my 360 would only power up if the Intercooler was off. Then I found more warnings about the Intercooler which made me return it and never look back.
Take your pick of a source.... http://www.google.com/search?q=nyko%...ler%20problems

I just bought a little cheap fan at Big Lots and threw it behind the entertainment center, pointed at the backside of the 360... I think it works just fine

Xbox360 warranty extended to 3 years!
http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/13876/...o-Three-Years/
This is a little bittersweet for me, my xbox took a dump 3 days ago (dvd drive stopped reading). I bought it at launch and couldn't get any help from ms and gamestop wanted to give me 50 bucks for it. I popped it open and messed with the drive till it worked. If I had waited a couple days I could have just sent it in for repairs. That being said, I would probably buy another one now if it did die, which I wouldn't have done before the warranty extension.

An open letter from Peter Moore, corporate vice president of the interactive entertainment and devices division at Microsoft, has just announced that the compnay is extending the warranty of the Xbox 360 to cover any console issues resulting in three flashing red lights, for three years from purchase.
The company still denies there is a design flaw that causes the 3 RLOD. Regardless, it's good to hear the company will fix any console experiencing the 3 RLOD free of charge—including shipping—for three years from the console’s purchase date.
Open Letter From Peter Moore
To our Xbox Community:
You've spoken, and we’ve heard you. Good service and a good customer experience are areas of the business that we care deeply about. And frankly, we've not been doing a good enough job.
Some of you have expressed frustration with the customer experiences you have had with Xbox 360; frustration with having to return your console for service after receiving the general hardware error message on the console.
The majority of customers who own Xbox 360 consoles have had a terrific experience from their first day, and continue to, day in and day out. But when anyone questions the reliability of our product, or our commitment to our customers, it's something I take very seriously.
We have been following this issue closely, and with on-going testing have identified several factors that can cause a general hardware failure indicated by three flashing red lights on the console. To address this issue, and as part of our ongoing work, we have already made certain improvements to the console.
We are also implementing some important policy changes intended to keep you in the game, worry-free.
As of today, all Xbox 360 consoles are covered by an enhanced warranty program to address specifically the general hardware failures indicated by the three flashing red lights on the console. This applies to new and previously-sold consoles. While we will still have a general one year console warranty (two years in some countries), we are announcing today a three-year warranty that covers any console that displays a three flashing red lights error message. If a customer has an issue indicated by the three flashing red lights, Microsoft will repair the console free of charge—including shipping—for three years from the console’s purchase date. We will also retroactively reimburse any of you who paid for repairs related to problems indicated by this error message in the past. In doing so, Microsoft stands behind its products and takes responsibility to ensure that every Xbox 360 console owner continues to have a fantastic gaming experience.
If we have let any of you down in the experience you have had with your Xbox 360, we sincerely apologize. We are taking responsibility and are making these changes to ensure that every Xbox 360 owner continues to have a great experience.
This will take a few days to roll out globally, and I appreciate your continued patience as we launch this program. I've posted an FAQ that should address some additional questions, and we'll update it over the next few days.
I want to thank you, on behalf of all us at Microsoft, for your loyalty.

Xbox 360 Elite to hit Japan in October... for $390
While many Americans have simply been trying to find the ebony Xbox 360 in stock, Microsoft has been making plans to hold its breath and launch the special edition console in Japan. If you've noticed, Microsoft has had quite the time trying to convince the Japanese to actually give the standard Xbox 360 a shot, but apparently there's hope that (yet another) flashy bundle will drum up business. Of course, the obvious standout here is the launch price, which will drop in at some $89 below what we Americans are forced to pay. Still, the Ą47,800 ($390) sticker shouldn't take anyone by surprise, as Microsoft already introduced the Xbox 360 Core system to this same market for a lesser price than that seen in North America. Anywho, for those interested (and living in Japan), be sure to mark you calendars for October 11th, capiche?

A question I have is that Moore mentioned that they are making "improvements" to the consoles in light of these failures, so does that mean if I get a three lighter, will I get a refurb model with the mods?

Well, my dvd drive went out about 2 months ago, and the replacement(refurbished?)I got back seems to be less noisier than the one i sent in. I bought the 2 year extended warranty. Mine probably was from the first batch 'cause I preordered and got mine 12/05.

as of July 7th, more XBox Elite on Costco.com and at some Circuit City stores (NOT online, but their website tells you which store(s) in your area has them in stock)
