I guess I'm lucky I have a gamestop near my work that I can go by to check on games and stuff. that's where I have my Halo 3 pre-ordered. Can't wait till they dish those out at midnight

XBOX 360 As a Media Center Extender on your TV
Has Anyone done this? Used the XBOX To Play Videos from your computer or access your Video Collection, really cool idea, and would save be tons of time, but How good is it, and does anyone have any experience with it? Also can you play AVI (DIVX) Files, or only MPEG?
Heres what I am Talking about:

I use it, but to do video you will have to have the Xbox and the computer on a wired network, doesn't work well over wireless. But I've streamed music over wireless no problem. Kinda nice to play your own soundtrack instead of lame music some games have. ALSO, you can connect your ipod directly to the xbox if you have the usb ipod cable that came with the ipod.

I do not believe the Media Center Extender supports formats such as Divx etc... However, I think there are software programs that allow this as a patch.
This piece of software seems really cool, is free and works even without a Media Center PC: http://www.tversity.com/home

I use my 360 to stream audio and video. Works fairly well, my biggest complaint is that you have to scroll through everything in your collection to get to a certain song/artist/video. So if you want, say, Nirvana, you have to scroll through everything between A and N. Takes a long ass time if you have a lot of music.
What types of media stored on my Media Center PC can I access through my Xbox 360?
* MPEG-1 with MPEG audio
* MPEG-2 with MPEG audio or AC-3 audio
* WMV 7, 8, & 9 with WMA Standard or WMA Pro audio
* WMV Image 1 & 2 (Photo Story 1, 2, & 3)
Audio formats
* Windows Media Audio (WMA) Standard
* WMA Pro
* WMA Lossless
* MP3

Yeah I stream music and sometimes videos from my computer with the 360. I really don't use it that much though. The only time I really stream music is when I'm playing PGR3.

Xbox modded with XBMC in my opinion is the best option for media content... I use that for all my media and my xbox 360 for games.
And it's a fairly cheap solution, around $180 for Xbox+ Modchip+ XBMC(Free). It will do every format that I have come across.

Yeah wireless wasn't working well for me either... good thing my modem/router is close to both my Desktop/Server and Xbox.

If your box gets banned, you pretty much have to buy a new one.

Talismoon ready to ship the Tiltboard 360 controller mod next week

Talismoon ready to ship the Tiltboard 360 controller mod next week
Xbox 360 owners feeling left out of all the motion-sensitive fun PS3 and Wii owners are currently having can finally breathe easy... and then break out their wallets. Talismoon's Tiltboard mod is due to ship next week for an estimated $39.99 -- a number that doesn't include a controller or the soldering iron you'll need to install it. The board features adjustments for tilt sensitivity, y-axis orientation, and zero level, but unless there's a setting that ports WarioWare to the 360, we're missing the point.
