Logitech Mice

I went through two MX510's and four G5's before I finally dug in and bought a G9 not too long ago. The aforementioned G9's laser has failed tonight. Couple questions.

1) Has Logitech long-term reliability always sucked a taint like this?
2) Less than 30 days since I bought it @ Bestbuy, but I seem to no longer have my receipt or packaging. Can I still return?
3) Is there any brand out there besides shitty-ass Razer that carries decent mice?

Needless to say, I'm pretty furious. If it wasn't for the fact that I've been a tired bastard the past week due to sleep deprivation, I would've thrown the mouse across the apartment complex a couple hours ago.

I personally have NEVER had any issues with any logiech product i bought i currently have a 2 keybords 1 wired solo keybord and 1 wirless with combo mouse. i have some logitech 5.1 surround speakers. a game controller and usb mic/headset. and a game pad. the only time i delt with customer service was for an issue trying to get my 5-6 year old game pad to work with a new(ish) game. I also had* and bluetooth headset but i broke it while doing my speaker install on my car. they were* great

my logitech BT keyboard sucks when linking with the pc through the logitech reciever, but my ps3 picks it up everytime no problem. the mouse has worked flawlessly so far (2 years)

I would imagine you could find computer oriented forums that would give you more technically supporterd advice. good luck.

Though I've been through many logitech keyboards I have yet to kill a mouse. I have had the same G5 for a couple years now, but the mouse I had before that is still being used at my friends house.

You can try Microsoft. They have always made fairly robust mice, but I find they don't have the weight of the logitech models.

I must have really bad luck with Logitech mice then .. I lucked out today though. I found my receipt lying around in my car, so I brought it back and exchanged it for a working G9.

All my G5s' wires got separated from their sources, from wrapping the wire around the mouse itself and carrying it with me to use for school on my laptop. I was careful about it, made sure I didn't pull too hard or anything. Shoulda learned my lesson after the 2nd one, but I'm hardheaded.

To prevent this happening again with my G9, I bought a V450 wireless Laser mouse, also Logitech. It's a wonderful little notebook mouse.

If anyone wanted a mini-review of the G9 .. it's completely worth the $100, if you hold your mouse claw-style. I love it, feels like I can't miss a shot with this thing. If you're one of those who like to rest their whole hand on the mouse, you'll be disappointed. Stick with the G5 if you're one of them.

I've been having problems with my MX revolutions lately. The first one lasted a while until the left mouse button tended to double click. My last one I got from newegg is having some weird battery charging issues.

Logitech trackball (wired) here.

Reliably lasts exactly one year before the left click button fails. I buy a new one every year.

I have the G15 and have had two different g5 mice. I love the mouse and the warranty on them is pretty good. All you have to do is call them and they will send you another mouse. I think the keyboard has a 1 year warranty but anything happens after that they will give you 50% off a new one.

I had my first logitech mouse back in freshman year of college. It lasted until a year after I graduated. 5 years, not bad for a mouse that was purchased refurbished. I'm not using a microsoft mouse I got for free. Not as solid feeling as the logitech. I'm planning on purchasing the MX series mouse very soon.

to the above comment on the z5500 speakers. awesome. still can't believe the deal i got a few months back on amazon. best value speakers and the sub is ridiculous
