Laptop Recommendation

Looking for a laptop to use around the house, going to use wireless broadband, battery and a good screen are the most important to me.

Thanks

Oh man, you have tons of options. As for brands I'd stick with Sony, Dell, IBM and Fujitsu. With what you are looking for you price range will be like 850 - 1300ish. When you look at hard drive options make sure it's not a 4200rpm drive, they are getting more popular for some odd reason...

The only problem with a mac is that, at the moment, it's a pain to get EVDO wireless broadband working because it doesn't have a PC card slot. In time, an ExpressCard or whatever it is will come out with EVDO functionality, but at the moment he'll have to stick with WIFI.

i beleive keyocera just game out with a sub 250 dollar evdo card wifi router. So it wouldn't give him the same movility as the pcmcia slot right in the computer, but he would be able to travel with it
