Which laptop to get . . .

I am looking into getting a new laptop and have narrowed it down to 2 laptops, Dell Inspiron 1520 or the Toshiba Tecra A9

For both of them I would invest in most of the upgrades including at least 2 Gigs of RAM. I am open to other suggestions for laptops that are under $2200 and have the option of coming with Windows XP. I will mostly be using it for gaming, movies, and work. What do you guys think?

The Toshiba's got separate memory for graphics, so that make it kinda better(you are using it for gaming, I assume?). Got a faster processor too!

Asus is one of the top motherboard makers, so their laptops should be solid!

Their SLI ready motherboards are insane!

I'm close to putting my next computer together but damn it's expensive.

Does acer have a top of the line travelmate anymore. They took the 8204 off their site months ago and I haven't seen the replacement yet.

P.S. I love my 8104.

For giggles, check out these laptops (Look at the DRX, gallery images)

http://www.falcon-nw.com/

Come on, the base DRX is only $4K...... :bling:

[Full disclosure: I use a Fragbox daily, but don't work for the company and get nothing for linking to them.]

Falcon NW

I took a tour of their HQ, its only a couple miles from my mother's house

They're good for custom paint jobs only IMO

I am "pretty" happy with the Fragbox, but I think we could probably have very close to the same performance/reliability with a Shuttle shoebox style, which is what the FNW replaced for a lot less $$.

Yeah I was going to go with an XPS, but the one I wanted doesn't come with a Windows XP option, and I am really aiming for XP, but I am starting to see less and less of them, thats mainly why I narrowed it down to the inspiron 1520 or a Toshiba
