Just bought Xbox360 Halo Console...return or keep?

Was at Costco today and saw they had 1 Halo Console left. It came with the following:

1) Xbox 360 Halo Console (includes wireless controller and play and charge kit in the console box)
2) Extra wireless controller - Spartan Controller
3) Halo3 Limited Edition game
4) Halo3 strategy guide

Got this for $500.....do you guys think it's worth it or should I return it and get the Elite, regular Halo3, extra regular controller, etc?

Its all up to you. Personally I think the Spartan controller and Halo 3 360 are fugly, while the Elite is just badass. Definitely will end up costing more though.

You aren't going to save any money by buying the stuff separately.

Halo 3 XBOX 360 Console is like 400$
Halo 3 Limited Edition is like 70$
Halo 3 Extra Controller is probably muy expensive
Halo 3 Guide is I don't know.

My bets are that it's over 500$ separately. I'd keep it.

I may go out and buy an elite. I still can't figure out what is wrong with my 360 and the graphic errors during GoW and Halo 3 are killing me. My 360 is well out of warranty.

I could care less for the look of the system but figured I'd just pick up the unit since is was the last one there. Haven't opened it yet so I may just return it. i was just thinking that the Halo edition doesn't really have an advantage over the regular premium system....and the limited edition Halo doesn't seem to have much over the regular Halo 3.

If I got the premium edition, i'd be looking at:

Xbox Premium Console $350
Regular Halo 3 $50
Extra Controller $40
Charge Kit $30

Decisions.....plus I think the new premium consoles coming out in the next month will give you 2 games in it (just in time for Christmas shopping).....

^ I thought only the Elite had that, but according to the Costco website, the special edition has the HDMI port. Not sure about the CPU.... and definitely doesn't have the larger HD...

If it were me I would just buy the Elite, the game, and the controller. But that's me. I need my HDMI and larger HD.

your 360 is not out of warranty at all. warranties were extended to 3 full years by microsoft a few months back...and considering the 360 is 2 years old, its impossible to currently own a 360 out of warranty. call microsoft, they will send you a prepaid packaging box, 3 weeks later you will have a fixed 360....simple as that, no charge.

This system has HDMI, but from the looks of it, doesn't have the 65nm chip (Lot #729, not #734).

Still not sure if I need the Halo Edition....dont' care for the design of the spartan controller nor do I care about the strategy guide....but good to have, I guess.

Also, I hear that next week they will bundle all the premiums and stuff with 2 games and won't raise prices. Something to consider as well...

Nope, I already tried. The warranty was only extended to those 360's with the 3 flashing red lights. Any other issue and it is the stadard warranty.

Now, is there a way to MAKE my 360 have the red lights?

when the elites first came out, none of them came with the 65nm chips but do come with HDMI.

As for the newer ones, who knows. There was info going around that the newer produced consoles coming out would have the 65nm chips.

The new[er] base 360 units now come with HDMI correct?

I bought the same exact bundle deal from Costco about 3 weeks ago. I'm happy with it. The controllers + xbox look pretty cool (they have their "unique" style).

I picked up an Xbox 360 elite this week (got $900 from work as a service length reward, which I used on Amazon gift certificates) along with an extra controller, Halo 3, Call of Duty 3, and NFS Carbon. They should be here on Wednesday, but I probably won't have any time to set up / play it until Friday earliest.

Don't see the point of a Halo 3 XBox if it doesn't offer much more than the HD one. I would return it if I were you and get the Xbox bundle pack with 2 games and the console. Don't forget a wireless controller, 50ft ethernet cable, headset and a silver Live subscription are included.

Make sure to buy the charging cord for the wireless controllers though, they drain batteries pretty quickly. I also think wireless controllers are pretty much worthless as I'm never far enough from the TV for it to be worthwhile.

The play n charge kit comes with the Halo edition xbox. And I gotta disagree with you on the wireless thing, I sit less than 5 feet away from my xbox (I use my LCD monitor as a screen) and wireless is amazing since I don't have any cords that I have to untangle or deal with.

It only comes with about 10 ft in ethernet cable not 50ft. Yea comes with batteries charger. I find wireless is good due to the fact you dont have to watch out for peeps tripping and rolling them up or the cord getting all tangled.

TL310, did your bundle come with an HDMI output? I saw those bundles w/ Forza/Marvel and the boxes didn't mention anything about HDMI.

Also, can you check the box to tell me what the lot numbers are? There is a white sticker over those numbers, but you can see through them. I am curious as to the lot number and the team.

Thanks
