I'm on the 25MG plan and have a SMC integrated wireless modem/router. Recently it has been dropping connections to the net very often. (It drops on a MAC OS, Vista OS, and Android OS). After five tech visits, they claim the signal is good and replaced the SMC with another SMC. Same problems.

I went to Amazon and bought a Moto Surfboard 6120 cable modem and a Netgear WNDR37AV wireless router. The router is in, but still waiting on the cable modem.

Do separate units usually perform better than the all-in-one package?

 

Dunno, but the Surfboard is a solid unit.
