Theres a bunch of stuff pissing me off about this game. Maybe someone can tell me if I can change some of these... I've looked around but can't find anything.

1. e brake. why can't I hit the gas while I'm skidding from the e brake? I try to swing the ass out a little with the e brake around a corner, as soon as I hit e brake it disengages the gas, and I can't get my rpm's back up until I stop skidding.

2. automatic replays. why does it go straight to replay every time? i've never watched one, never will. why is there no setting to turn them off? (or is there?)

3. 30 second intros to every race. why do I have to watch the pack zoom by 27 different camera angles before I can start driving?

4. starting last. is there a qualifying? why do I have to start in last in every race?

5. turning. why is it that if I turn the wheel all the way in one direction, I still go skidding straight ahead. even with the $40,000 racing tires it seems like it takes about 100 yards to make a 180 degree turn because you just go skidding to the side.

if a car is going 50 mph, and you swing the wheel all the way to one side, a real car, even on the shittiest tires, does not skid straight ahead. it either flips or spins.

6. load times. the waiting on this game is almost enough to make me stop playing. between every single action i have to stare at that loading screen, good lord. ps3 better fix this.

ok I feel better now.

1. dunno, i think it's because they made it function like the brake is supposed to work? It locks your rear wheels. Unlike rally driving where their things actually lock the front or rear diffs allowing you to swing the rear around and still have acceleration.

2. not a big deal just hit the button but i agree.....

3. agreed...dont like the work up to the actualy race but it does give you some time to prepare.

4. don't mind this too much. Like starting from the back :shift: helps to improve skill....

5. game is way realictic....most cars are setup for understeer from the factory. The wheel really makes you work so it isn't easy, i agree.

6. yes, my #1 complaint. I hate it. You can't even use the HDloader to fix it

1. the ebrake sucks. avoid it. don't know why it was not implemented correctly, you should be able to hit it and invoke a slide, right?? wrong.

2. replays have been one of the highlights of the GT series since it started. if you don't to watch it, just hit Start right when it starts to skip out of it.

3. those are kind of annoying.. no way to turn em off. they aren't 30 seconds long

4. go to PRACTICE for championship races - it's qualifying. set a good laptime, you'll see your position move up.

5. user issues

6. honestly it's not that bad load times.. you wanna see bad load times? try burnout 3 for PS2.

no doubt - honestly I'm amazed at how fast a track like Nurburgring loads, for example.... remember the PS2 is not using a hard drive (for GT4). do something else while it's loading, if its that much of a problem for you.

hmmm.. ok - let's quantify this. If I go to World Circuits, and choose Nurbugring, and then choose say, Practice or Photo Mode. From the moment I hit that button, to the moment it comes up with the entry screen (where you hit A-spec mode and start driving) - it takes about... 8 seconds. How long does it take for you all saying load times are slow???

in about 20 minutes i'm going to start the 24 hour nurburg race with the minolta. it should be done by tomorrow and then i'll take the F1 car to the track and see how i do. i'll use the wheel and the controller.

right. you should be able to touch the ebrake to slide out, and while your sliding, slam the gas to drift a little.

2. replays have been one of the highlights of the GT series since it started. if you don't to watch it, just hit Start right when it starts to skip out of it.
I know, I just don't like them and wish I could turn them off like in any other game.

I know, I exaggerated, but they are too long and I hate em.

well, i found another easy way to make money from actual driving

Race the Schwarzwald League B in European events. Only 3 races and you win a Mercedes-Benz AMG 190E 2.5 16V Evolution II (DTM) '92. Sell it for $370k.

How many laps for each race? Another cash cow... the Capri rally is extremely easy when you have the right car. I won by almost 30 seconds and that's just barely pushing it.

As has been discussed over and over in the past, cars don't flip in GT4, and haven't in the past either. Yes this is a lack of realism - and indirectly ties into there being no damage modeling. Most sites say this is because of hardware limitations on the PS2 - and that GT5 is going to implement a full damage model. Maybe you will be happy with being able to flip your car in GT5.

Are you driving a Skoda? Some cars handle like ass. I personally have not had the experience you describe above, but I have noticed more pronounced understeering with certain cars - to the point of them being annoying to drive or even undrivable. Put stickier tires on it and add more ASM to combat it, those are the only suggestions I have for you. For the cars that I wanna drive that don't handle quite the way I want them to, I upgrade them and adjust their settings until they do.

Ok so, you're just complaining then. Fine. There are going to be greater load times on a system that doesn't have (or use) a hard drive, and has a relatively slow optical drive. Hopefully with the PS3 the load times will be better because they will have faster drives and more system resources.

srika - remembers waiting 4 minutes for "Way of the Exploding Fist" to load on C64....

its 2 races, 2 laps each, but its a pain to pass the one other rally car you are going against. You have to be agressive, but being too aggressive will get you a 5 second penalty (5 seconds at a top speed of 30 mph) if you hit the wall or the other car too hard...

Unless you have a car with good acceleration and soft street tires for good traction, its going to frustrate the hell out of ya. The price car is a 265k rally car.

i see your point. but me personally, I rarely manage a gold medal the first time through a license test. but if I try over and over again, I'll learn exact braking points, optimal speeds through corners to achieve the lowest times.

But with all that said, every car handles/brakes/accelerates differently, so maybe it is a waste of time.

Sigh, fuckin' game!

I did that the first weekend I got it...Literally locked myself in the house and just played non-stop. The only breaks I had was to eat a cup of instant noodles for lunch and another cup of instant noodles for supper...

My marathon ended at 2AM when I realized that I had played approx. 16 hours...

And yep...guess what I was doing? Licenses.

i'm just wondering but if you have looked in the manual, in b-spec mode it says that you can go 5X the normal speed when in the race moniter mode but for reason i can go only to 3X. does this change later in the game to 5X once i completed something or have gotten so far in the game?
