Well I finally got the game lastnight and so far, I don't think any divorce plans are being drawn up by my wife...

My first car was the Legacy Turbo which had a good power to weight ratio, and its pushing almost 420 HP with just a stage2 turbo upgrade and chip, and intercooler. Not bad for my first car . Now i just need to focus on getting my licenses to race in the other series and build up some moolah.

When u win a car in sunday cup, do you have to race all of them over again to get the prize car?

take that legacy and go win the first race in the special condition events (both directions).

you get this cadillac cien that puts out about 950 hp when you buy the supercharger. with that car, you can win the other special condition events easily, and get mega $$$

thats how I started last night, and I went from an 84 rx7 and no money to a garage full of supercars in a few (ok 6) hours.

HOw are the A-spec points calculated... I know its based on you winning gold, but is it also based on how your car compares to the others in the race? What are those points used for?

60 pts. is the default. If your car has the adventage you get less points. More points if your car sucks.

And the points are for BRAGGING RIGHTS only. B-Spec point on the other hand is a lot more useful.

Thanks for the tip. I wish I knew about this sooner. I kept doing the capri rally over and over. I like this way much better. I hate having put a Mercedes in my garage but money is money.

Anyway, after GT, GT2, and GT3, I didn't think I would end up playing this game that much. I practically played GT3 for only a couple days before getting bored. I figured I'll probably just get this one to just add to my collection. I'm actually enjoying this game quite a bit and I look forward to playing it all the time. I started out with a TSX. Kept playing the sunday cup until I could afford the Mugen S2000. Boy that was a lot of hours spent. I didn't know about being able to fast forward B-Spec and definately didn't know about the special conditions event. I knew there must be a better way of making money so I looked it up on IGN.com and this thread.

Now I have a couple pages of cars in my garage. All of them, except for the CLK race car and my original TSX, are the suped up Hondas like the Mugen S2000, Spoon cars, and Mobil and Raybrig NSXs. I don't know but I can't seem to drive anything else other than Hondas. I can't seem to control the other cars as good. I find the S2000 and NSX to be the best handling. I wish the TL was in this game.

Anyway, I'm at work now. I'm dying to get home and make more money so can finish off my Honda garage.

Yeah GT3 is probably the one I played the least. It collected dust in a hurry. I can't believe GT4 actually pulled me away from playing RE4 (I guess it also helps that it's my second time going through RE4).

The Mercedes CLK-DTM Touring Car, modded to all hell. Win it in the Mercedes section, umm... I think the 2nd race. One of the races in MB section.

I don't get those a spec points sometimes. I just got 74 for an Aston Martin race where I won easily by 5-6 seconds. But other times the race will be worth 40-50 points and I won't have a chance.

For Option Stream Z, I think using hard or super-hard for the rear tire is the best choice. For the front, use the medium....so the cars still could turn with more speed. Yea, changing the gear settings probably would help.

I'm working on Formula GT myself....using B-spec ofcourse. Too many races with too many laps. I have three more races left for the championship and i get another Poly Formula + lots and lots of money

BTW, I always lose on Super Speedway....no matter what.

Wow. No response for 10 hours.

Well I'm probably the least furthest considering I just bought my copy on Saturday and have only played a couple hours. I got A and B license and used the Sunfire GXP to win the Sunday cup so I got about $14k. I'm considering the following for my first car:

S14 with like 200hp/200lb/ft (assuming turbo) for like $8k
Skyline GTS-T R32 for like $12k
Save a little more for VR4 for like $16k

I used the R32 on a license test and it understeered like crazy in Trial Mountain. I obviously favor RWD in this game because I wet my pants doing the RX7 on NRing. I'm leaning towards the S14 and boosting it more. I also remembered how the Daisin Silvia from part 2 dominated most of my mid-level races. The VR4 is a favorite from part 1 but might be a little heavier. What you guys think?

And I think that in B-Spec the driver is just a dumbass at 1st. In the same Sunfire I owned in for the Sunday Cup, my driver finished 3rd. :wtf: It says in my status his Level is 140 which I'm assuming is beginner. What levels are you guys who've been using B-Spec?

And yes, the License tests were wayyyy more fun than frustrating. I was laughing when eating dirt in the NRing. I'd be on controller 2 or 3 by now if it was part 3.

tried the b-spec mode last night. easy way to get money but kinda takes the fun out of playing the game. if you're just having the cpu drive the car for you then what's the point?

did some license tests last night. Kept spinning out with the lancia rally car is the s4 test or something. Was very lazy and not on my game so i can see why. Completed the clubman cup race and won the mazda speed 6. Nothing too exciting Not sure what car i will attempt to race with next. Most likely will take another honda. Perhaps go full tilt wit the CLS. Dunno...really liking the s2k so perhaps i'll stick with it and see far it'll take me

It did understeer during the Trial Mtn license thingy. But if you buy the car, you could fix the understeer easily by adjusting the ASM. Lower number for the oversteer and higher number (such as 16) for the understeer side. That should help fix the problem. If I were you, I'd prolly pick the GT-R since its alot faster than the Silvia. But thats just me. When I first started the game, I bought '90 Mazda RX-7 GT-X and didnt buy a car til I had enough to buy '99 Nissan Skyline GT-R N1.

Also, I do not recommend using B-Spec at a early stage (unless you have a car that outruns the opponents by at least 30 seconds...maybe alot more. My B-spec's level is about 5600 and I rarely lose the race. I could put it on 4th pace(I forgot what its called....the one below the Hard Push) and still runs without spinning in gravels.
