Gotta say this game is pretty addicting and far better than the demos. Graphics are crisp, sounds are decent, and it took me near 1hr to drive the outskirts (not the 800 extra miles of inside roads) of the island.

The car interiors are breathtaking leaving me to ask, whats PGR3!! The ability to roll the windows down is pretty cool too.

For those who were concerened with the over done blur on the demos, it is fully adjustable on the full version.

 

Neat, sounds good, especially nice that they only charge 40 bucks for it in this world of any old crap costing 60 or so.

And I think the pgr3 guys used as many pixels in their interiors as td claims to in the whole car. So that sounds pretty impressive.

If you are picking up test drive, then you might as well getbthe Premium and make use of the downloadable content. Plus, some games will make use of the HD for faster load times and no lag. Think Grand Theft Auto with its huge world.

 

You need the HD.

 

But EA is gay and Madden sucks.

I went and picked it up, It seems that, at least at first the ai can't get out of their own way. I'm on the pro bracket thingy now and i beat a xj220 in a mustang convertible, down a twisty road.

Things still being locked kinda makes me scratch my head, I don't really enjoy the way the cars handle to much.

Anywho i can't get on live right now in that game either, mabee online will be more fun.

 

That would be hot if the first 3 car packs are free!! I picked it up yesterday, but with two football games on last night, didn't crack the seal. Tonight, I'm all over it. From what I've been reading the game blows the demo away, and I actually loved the demo... so I can't wait to pop it in tonight!

 

Can anyone comment on the gameplay? I didnt really like the way the cars drove in the demo. Feels a bit too arcadey. Anyone wanna justify the price? Hows replayability, etc.?

 

It cost 40 dollars, + updates. I got it last week and cant stop playing it. But school > games. I played it for 5 mins yesterday.

 

cars handle pretty much the same as the demo.

 

You can download the ugrade for the RS4 and R34 Skyline GTR now. 50K for Skyline, 80K for RS4 + 2K for the nicer rims.

 

Gameplay is much cleaner then the demo. I think the key for the handling is to remove most, if not all of the driving assist. I think having it on the highest level (sport) is really what takes away from the driving. I like to have it on Hypersport or just plain off. Using those settings make the driving much better.

However, that said, keep in mind that the game has an arcade feel to it still. It's not a complete driving sim like Forza or Gran Turismo... and if you're expecting it to be like that, you'll be disappointed. If you take it for what it is (somewhere between NFS and Gran Turismo), you'll enjoy it. Plus, what makes the game so fun (and addicting) is the massive online world. Everything is in scale.. so if you're doing a 100 mile mission driving 50mph, it will take you two hours. Online is also sick. Driving around playing the game, doing missions while other cars controlled by other players are driving around in your world is really awesome.

If you can understand that this game is not a true sim like GT, then you'll love it.

 

BTW, anyone have the game and want to trade codes from the inside of the manual? You get access to download two supercars by referring a friend... so all I need to do is trade codes with one person and we can both access the supercars.

^ Yup. I got a PM from stapler yesterday, we swapped codes. I followed the instructions on the sheet included with the game, and downloaded them last night, no problems.

The two cars are the McClaren F1 LM and the Pagani Zonda. Only 10,000 people can do the download... after that they will no longer be available.

BTW, this game is totally addicting. Played for 3 hours Tuesday night and almost 4 last night. I only have the Saturn Sky (first purchase) as the F class and the Audi S4 Convertible as the E class car. I'm sitting on almost $330k though, and I haven't decided if I want to buy a higher end car, or a bigger house. Decisions, decisions

 

Anyone else obsessed with getting the fastest possible time on Oahu Raceway, the clockwise 2-lap race?

Mine is 2:54 with the Saleen S7. I've seen people do 2:44, and I can't figure out how the hell they do it. Their car just seems faster.

Love the game though, nothing beats driving from one end of Oahu to the other, weaving between traffic, engine at redline.
