i'm having trouble hooking up the ps3 to my wireless...what are the steps to get the ps3 to be able to detect it?

okay, so I figured out what happened... I ended up downloading 2 of the same demos I guess... (the XBox 360 would just tell you that you already have it downloading), anyway... the graphics is insane!!! It's the first 1080p game I've played so far for the PS3

but you know when you put a game to download in the backround, to check on it, you can see in under NETWORK (you know, the tab where you find the browser and the PS store) - download management

 

Took me about 15 minutes to download and it was totally worth it! I downloaded a few last night...gran turismo (stupid suzuki cappucino), ridge race, genji, nnija gaiden, lemmings, def jam icon, and the puzzle pack...so far genji and ninja gaiden rock...gran turismo is beautiful, and lemmings was pretty albeit rather classic. Oh I also downloaded that motor whatever that you race off road...that was hot!!!

Is the diff between 1080p and 1080i that different??? Also, is300eater, do you have the hdmi cable or are you using component?

 

I'm sure there's only a slight difference between 1080p and 1080i... so don't run out and buy a new TV cuz of what said... but N.G. comparing to say... Motorstorm, you can definitely see the difference in graphics...

I have a HDMI cable... I got a bundle from Costco for like $100 where it includes 2 HDMI and optical and a bunch of other cables... and it's good quality cables too...

are u saying ng is better in 1080 or motorstorm is better? I guess I have to run out and get HDMI cables as the standard cables I have seem to be awesome with graphics..but if there's way better quality out ther with just some new cables then I may have to go ahead and pick em up...

 

I was def. happy out of the box - graphics were awesome, colors were good...

got and hdmi and BIG DIFFERENCE

better textures, shades of color... go to monoprice.com for industrial quality and low price, dont go to gamestop or walmart - rip off and very short length

 

yeah i notice a lot of the cables for the PS3 are really short. it sucks...the worst is the controller charge cable...anyone know if you can use the usb data cable from phones? I have a motorola slvr and the jacks look identical...

 

well i did see a difference at a friends house, but not enough to spend an extra 1000$ for until other hd content is shown utilizing the 1080p

yes - it is a standard and universal USB cable type 1 (cameras, razrs, etc)

(type 2 is usually found for printers)

awesome find! Looks like this summer's gonna have at least a FEW good games!

 

I just think the details in N.G. is better than any other games I've played so far for the PS3...

well, here's the thing about the whole HDMI and component cables... a long story short here (which I've already posted in another thread when I first got my Samsung 1080p LCD).

...anyway, so I get my new Sammy 1080p TV delivered last month, and I didn't feel like spending the money on the "higher-end" HDMI cable... so when I was picking up the HD DVR at Cox service center, I opted for the cheaper HDMI cable that was like $30, because I had read somewhere that they are pretty much all the same I go home and hook eveything up but after 30 minutes or so... the picture would cut out... and the TV would say "no signal". So, I'm freakin' out thinking that I got a defected TV or something... I called Onecall.com and told them about this... and told the support that I picked up one of those cheap HDMI cables... and he immediately knew the problem... he told me that I have to either get a better HDMI cable or actually go with the Monster component cable that I already have...

this is the interesting part... he told me that a (higher-end) component cable is actually just as good as a higher-end HDMI cable in terms of picture quality, it just doesn't have audio... so I did use it for awhile and the picture never cut out thereafter (returned the cheap HDMI). But when I saw the bundle at Costco, I figured it was a good deal and picked it up. It was the same day I bought the PS3... so I used one HDMI cable for the HD DVR and the other for the PS3, I couldn't really tell you if the picture's better with the HDMI or component... (I never hooked up the PS3 with anything else).

 

ugh! No Metal Solid 4? according to ign.com March of 08' At least there's SOCOM, Army of Two and Call of Duty 4, yeah... I like the shooter/military games

 

Motorstorm > NFS Carbon

 

yeah...i haven't played nfs yet, but motorstorm is already one of my fave racing games!

 

Just got rid of my NFS carbon for 360 last night.......not a fan of the game. Got forza instead.....do you have that option on ps3? its a great game. The cars are huge on my new tv. Just picked up a Mitsubishi 65" 1080p DLP HDTV Wednesday night got a good deal from a friend at BestBuy. $2,250
