Games run slower with Youtube in background

I'm not very computer savvy, let's throw that out there first.

Once in a while I like to listen to music in the background but I noticed that with youtube running, or even with the window just open in the background my framerate slows down a bit. Something wrong with my processor? Not all cores running possibly? How would I check such a thing?

Or am I completely off? All the advice posts I could find on google were about youtube videos showing how to fix slow computers, not slow computers because of youtube.

the container plugin that runs flash/youtube/net eats, so duh, it will eat your fps.

what's your processor?

right click youtube video, go to settings, turn off hardware acceleration

dont listen to music youtube, save the videos on your computer and play on WMP or whatever u got on ur pc. youtube vids and the ads hog a lot of bandwidth.
