FPS suck

I just tried Call of Duty 2 even after I swore off FPS cus they literally make me sick. After 10 minutes I felt dizzy and wanted to make the room stop spinning. I can't stand that I can't play the games everyone loves. I already uninstalled it since I won't be giving that another try.

Does anyone else suffer from this?

If playing FPS games makes you sick, then you might not be getting a high enough frame rate. That's usually what causes that.

yeah it does suck...my friends got their stupid headsets and play all this crap. It wouldn't be so bad if I could just get 1/2 hour to 1 hour before I get sick but I get queasy almost immediately.

I can only play games like AOE or Diablo.

FWIW - I have a friend that always gets sick w/ FPS's and my system and another friend's routinely pump out 80+ fps on most everything.

onlt 2 fps games have done thast to me. Turok (N64) and Medal of honor.

A lot of it was because of the earthy colors (browns, greens, yellows) and some of it had to do with framerates.

playing COD2 on xbox360 (at best buy) had no ill effect. Nor do any of the other fps games.

Have you played any other FPS shooters like Half-Life 2 or Doom 3 prior to CoD...?

Really? Most people I know who suffer from it are playing at <60 FPS.

No, haven't tried those 2 games... I've tried playing HALO 1+2, Splinter Cell, Full Spectrum Soldier and a couple other soldier FPS games. All of which have the same effect on me.

What frames/sec are you guys suggesting? What about the games on XBOX ... can I up the frames rates on there too?

Popping Dramamine?? No thanks.

If you're gaming on the XBox it isn't a framerate issue, everyone gets the same framerate on their console.

You just have a weak stomach

I think it boils down to the simple fact that everyone's wired differently. For some people vision is a more integral part of equilibrium than others. I also think you can be affected in either direction. Games for example have visual cues (movements) that aren't being experienced by the inner ear. I've neer been bothered by this. A few years ago when I was on a cruise however, I got a bit queasy indoors when I was experiencing the slight rocking motion of the ship without the corresponding visual cues.

The feeling will go away eventually. Keep playing it for a few hours.

Can't...I get really nauseous (sp?)...I guess its just me. There's many other types of games I can play...but I just wish I can tackle even just one FPS long enough to say I like the game or not.

If you can tough it out to CoD2's American campaign, it could add some nice realism to riding the Higgins boat into Normandy.

I had that problem with Turok 2 for the N64, I never got very far in the game because I got so dizzy and nauseous. I also ended up with diarrhea.

That was the only FPS I ever had that problem with though.

Turok was the only game that ever made me feel somewhat ill.

I couldn't resist after listening to u guys I went back to COD2 for another try....I upped the frames rate and it helped a great deal. I still get a little woozy but no where near the first try. Why would they default the frame rate at 60 which I guess is really low?? I have it in the 70's any benefit to upping into the 80's??

In all seriousness, try dramamine. I took some before I went flying in a light airplane and no nausea at all even though we did some acrobatics. I get motion sickness in cars although I've never experienced it from a fps game.
