well it is on xbox, so loading times and graphics should kick ass. If it has real damage models that can adversely and accurately affect the game, then ya i think it would be definate competition for gt4

The damage model is the only thing missing from gt4.It really sucks cuz you can cheat by bouncing off walls,were a real car would be totaled.

Yes, damage is a lacking feature of the GT series, I will admit that....it should be added, and as stated in rumours it will be featured in GT5...I hate to say it, but GT4s grahpics seem to over power Forzas ...look at the screenshots for some good proof....

Forza has one feature that GT4 sorely lacks - Online racing.

Forza will have very thorough online racing modes and the creation of car clubs very similar to clans in Halo2

Forza has people creating car clubs? GT4 has got car clubs for evrey make, model and year set in place, race leagues, tournaments, and rosters will all be featured on the online of GT4...eventually when it comes out...

Im glad that GT4 doesn't have any damage. They aren't doing it because of laziness but we are all aware of the quality that PD reaches. I believe the director/creator of the series has stated that accurate real-time damage is not capable on this generation of hardware.

I believe that they don't just want a minor collosion to simply make the car go a bit slower. They want a collision model that can detect where the car was hit, what mecahnical and cosmetic parts would be affected and how the damage to those parts will effect the rest of the car.

And there in a nutshell you have one of the biggest differences between games on a console and sims on a PC. To be fair, however, I think it's quite possible do a decent damage model on consoles. I just think if you get too detailed with it then you're moving into sim territory which is not where money is to be made with console titles. At least, not in the North American market.

it will be a good game for the x box and it will compete against GT, but i think Polyphony has way too much experience making the GT series to let the titel slip from its top tier status. Every GT game has gotten progressively better and has never strayed too far off from the previous title. Anyone who played GT2 can get into GT3 and so on. I have played Forza Demo and can tell you that the handling characteristics of the vehiles differ from the GT series by a lot. The cars in the Forza demo were so prone to understear that the game was just annoying. A vette understeered just like a 350z and a lancer. This will be good for Xbox only owners, but those that have both ps2 and xbox will chose GT. Maybe purchasing or renting Forza later.

in the end, it will just boil down to whichever game has better gameplay. I would get whichever game is more fun to race with. I wouldn't get a game that has great graphics and online play if the cars didn't drive well.

ok...... the sound of the Vette is definitely better than in GT3. Supposedly they have improved the domesticon sounds in GT4 (can anyone comment on that?)

of greater concern to me though, is the geto-ass handling characteristics of the C6 in Forza, which can be plainly seen in the video... the twitchy, jerky steering, which is unfortunately typical of Xbox racing games.

sound and graphics are great, but sound and graphics alone make a game do not....

I had already read reviews of Forza on some gaming sites, they said the handling is bunk ass compared to GT4....
