I used to play but I sold the game, I was really good too, used to play with ABS and TCS off, Manual transmission, full damage and only brake lines on. I just got bored of doing the same thing over and over, you know.

i had the most fun doing this...A class cars only...full damage on, abs on, traction control optional, stability off, tranny optional, no brake lines.

Hope you guys play in B Class, I have a B700 Legacy GT.
I play no traction control, no assists at all, with manual tranny, just ABS on - career and online. I have a wheel too but I don't think it helps, just makes it more fun.
I only have 1 request - turn collisions off. Too annoying, the cars are too squirrelly online, we need a dedicated host or something.

I like damage on because it will prevent people who are 2nd, to take out the person in 1st JUST to win the race...we have a lot of dirty drivers....dirty asian drivers...and i think it's best we leave it on to promote a clean race.
Collisions and damage are two separate settings.
Collisions affect how your car interacts with other cars. IIRC, it can be set to
- On (full contact, all the time)
- Default (your car can only hit other cars going forward, cars going reverse on a track are ghosted upon contact, helps control griefers)
- Off (all cars turn into ghosts upon any car/car contact)
With the collisions off you can still hit walls and damage your car, to the extent that the damage setting is set to.
Only disadvantage I've found of having the collisions off is it eliminates drafting.

It's actually not that hard to play with ABS off, just got to control your braking. I used to race with the Porsche 911, the newer model, that's like 111,000cr. If I remember correctly it's A class.
Another good car to race with is the Ferrari Modena. One of the best handling non race cars you can drive.
