FINALLY got a PS3, but WHERE are the good games??

I got lucky and managed to find a PS3 bundle which came with Resistance: Fall of Man and two other games. I was so surprised at the fact that i had the opportunity to purchase it, i'm not even amped up to play because i haven't been reading any reviews of games or to see what i should get until now. So far, it doesn't seem like much is out.

So my question is, what are some of the best games to get for this system?

Thanks!

-Rob

Resistance: Fall of Man is suppose to be their best launch game. You'll have to wait many months to get some others. Rainbow 6 and F.E.A.R. will be out 1q of 07.

But really, that is why I can't understand he mad rush for PS3's. Resistance is the only good game, but it isn't $700+ good.

Yeah, i didn't stand in line or look hard for the PS3. In fact, i was planning to get a Nintendo Wii (and still will probably). I was just in the right place and right time, and one was available for purchase, so i grabbed it. I didn't even stop to look at the games. Just bought it and left. I still haven't even opened the thing.

I didn't realize that the launch titles were gonna be... well... what they are.

I like Resistance although it makes me a little sick. I also picked up Ultimate Alliance, Tiger Woods 07 and Need for Speed- Carbon. All the games are quality and a lot of fun. I also hear the NHL game is supposed to be good as well as one of the NBA games.

There was no way in hell I was going to wait in a line or pay more than retail. I just happened upon one so I picked it up. If I'm back at Best Buy tomorrow and I see a WII in stock, I'll get one of those too.

I was looking at Ultimate Alliance for the PS2 a while ago. My friend got it for PSP and said it was fun. Is it fuN? Any gripes?

Also, how do you like Need for Speed?

Yeah, the launch titles are basically crap. Same thing happened with the X360. Sadly, most really good games won't start appearing until after the holidays. For now, the few Ash listed should hold you over.

BTW, I have NHL 2007 for the 360, and if the PS3 version is anything like that, it's freakin sick!!

Yeah, I was expecting Sony to go a different path than what happened last year with the 360. I wonder what the deal is. I guess I'll just have to wait, which will kinda suck. Man, i remember SOOOOO many good-to-great titles that came out when PS2 first came out. I was expecting a bit more.

Again, i haven't been following PS3 news or articles or reviews, simply because i wasn't expecting to get one. Doing a little research online, there doesn't seem to be much, and i guess most people are holding out til 1st Q 07.

Resistance is pretty sweet. Im about halfway through maybe a little more. Dont have multiplayer set up yet so dont know how that is but I am not dissapointed at all in the PS3. Resistance has absolutely no slow downs on screen and the load times are minimal. Great graphics and gameplay is pretty fun. There arent alot of games out right now but more will come in the next month or 2.

Was that NHL 2K7 or NHL 07 (from EA)?

UPDATE:

I just took it back. I had it and didn't have any motivation to play it or even look at it. Maybe i'm just growing out of the video games thing. Although i do enjoy playing Madden, and was a fan of socom online but it got old quick with socom 3. I'll probably get the PS3 again sometime in the spring or summer, when i see more games worth getting it for.

Thanks for all your posts!

You could have sold it on eBay and probably made a few bucks...

Whats the point of taking it back just to buy it again later? Are you going to invest that $599?

I bought one as soon as I could just because I knew one day or another I was going to want one.

I took it back to give someone else a chance to get it at retail. It was a bundle pack for $799.99. I will buy it again later, but probably not at the same price. In fact, who knows if i will really get it. I don't play video games like i used to. I don't have the time. I bought it out of impulse, but never even opened the thing. I might actually get the Wii or 360 before i get a PS3, but again, it probably won't be til spring or even summer. Besides, i'll let Sony work out the kinks and defects to be released in future units.
