Finally decided to sell the PS2 and buy an X-Box....

Now the question is whether to buy the Elite or X-Box 360 (normal)?

Anyone go through a similar situation recently? I know the Elite is fairly new (3-4 months) and I would really only be using the system for gaming and occasionally internet gaming. I guess my main question is does it make sense to spend the extra $$$ for the Elite when I the normal X-Box is probably more than sufficient for what I would be using it for?

I bought the non-core 360 and I don't regret waiting for the Elite. If you want the extra HD space and HDMI, than get the Elite.

I don't know at what point does anyone would need 120g on a gaming console... and if your TV's NOT 1080p... using conponent cables will work just fine...

but as for coming in late on the XBox 360, you'll be able to buy a ton of awesome games for CHEAP! eBay and even EB Games/Game Stop will have the sales bin with great deals

I don't really understand the point of the 120gb hard drive either.

HDMI is nice if you have an HDMI receiver and/or 1080p TV, but if not I'd just go with the regular xbox.

The elite is ugly too.

Thanks guys.

Has it been released (or implied) when this supposed price drop is going to occur? I don't want to wait too long ($1 to NCAA 08) but I don't want to wait 6 months over $50.

I doubt it will happen this summer. Maybe just before the holiday season, so if you can wait until then.

The 120GB HD, is to allow more feature content to be d/l from Xbox Live, movies, older games, trailers and extra levels.
