Finally broke down and did it (twice)

Well I am officially in the 21st century as far as monitors are concerned. All of my computers at home had CRT monitors with the newest being over 5 years old.

I went to Circuit City this morning to return this POS Royal Shredder. Before I left, I went to the back to check out LCD monitors. I had my eye on these Active Bright Sony LCD's for well over a year, but never wanted to fork over the cash to get it....until this morning.

I ended up purchasing 2 monitors SDM-HS75P (17") and SDM-HS95P (19"). I just hooked up one to my work laptop, and it looks awesome!. I will probably leave this one at work and take the other one home tonight to replace my super old 17" CRT. I can't wait to get home to play Quake 4 on it!!

nothing wrong with CRTs, they as far as i recall they have better color reproduction, perform better w/ movies and games, and the brightness is more balanced where as in some LCDs some areas can be brighter slightly and some darker..

id still have my CRT (viewsonic A75F) but my dad didnt want to have to deal with lugging it back and forth from norcal to socal

I have the 17" Sony and I love it. It sucks that I could get the 19" for the same money as I paid for the 17". Never look at computer stuff 3 months after you buy one. It'll only piss you off.

I was a huge CRT advocate before. I decided that they were good enough and if you spend enough money you are you going to get something competitive. I got a 2005fpw, and the image is SO awsome. Counter strike and movies in widescreen are unbelievable. Also, it's so much easier on the eyes (no flicker).

My dell d600 screen is complete shit tho, it's the cheapest one. Too bad my school didn't tag that on
