I've been playing this game online with some friends and it's just sick. Really, it is. I'm very much looking forward to Madden, but it will need to blow me out of the water to be the game of choice for our league.

 

i like the gameplay just as much if not better with 2k5, franchise mode still owns in madden, tho

I just got the new gmr magazine in the mail and they reviewed bith madden and espn. they gave madden a 9/10 and espn a 8/10. They basically said it was on par with madden. Also said its a cheap mans madden.

What are you trying to do with the L1 button? If you're using the default controls the L1 button is a jump on Defense and a Stiff Arm left on Offense.


BTW, I was playing my buddy online last night and we saw the coolest thing.....

He was the Giants, I was the Bills. He through an out an up to Toomer who caught it about 17 yards upfield, then was tacked from behind by Nate Clements. After the tackle Toomer stayed down and was hurt... so we reviewed the reply (I hope Madden lets you do this b/c last year there were no challenges or replays online). Anyway, we looked at the reply and you could actually see Clements tackle him from behind and Toomers right foot get caught on the turf and twist as Clements landed on his leg as Toomer was falling to the ground. It was so graphic that my friend and I both cringed at the same time. It was something you'd see on Sportscenter... and it was absolutely awesome.

My local Gamespot said call them around noon on Monday and they'll tell me when the truck is supposed to pull up that day, they said they are hoping for 3pm.

got the game in the mail yesterday... played for 6 hours HAHAHA that is 60 crib points!!!!

lol the game is really nice the fluidity of players is awesome... david arquette is an annoying mother fucker... I'm 6-3 or something... I was dolphins for a while and switched to the bengals... gotta go with my boy carsen palmer... the preparation for the upcoming weekly game is pretty hard to get right... im not exactly sure how to schedule that... my linemen are suffering... more position drills? I was putting them in the weight room.

actually I can't wait to get home from work to go play more... lol

Dang the computer blew a call bad. Less than 2 mins, 3rd down, receiver runs it past the 1st down but gets tackled behind the 1st down line out of bounds (hit hard). Automatic review for the spot and they reversed the 1st down. Should've been forward progress.

I just got a call from Gamestop telling me that Madden '05 will be in this evening. And reminding me that if I trade in ESPN2K5 I'll get $15 off.\

So basically if I had bought ESPN2K5 2 weeks ago for $20 and then trade it in today for $15, I would have rented it for $5 for 2 weeks. EA is genius, way to keep their foot on the neck of their competitors.

FYI, that's not an EA promotion, that's a Gamestop promotion. I called my local EB and they had no clue what I was talking about... so only Gamestop is doing it... so it's just a way for Gamestop to make more money off of consumers.....

And lastly (I have to stop hitting that edit button so quickly )..... EA is not being ruthless, the stores run promotions every year whenever Madden comes out. Two years ago if you had the previous year's Madden and the hint guide you got $25 credit, last year it was $15 for the previous year's version, etc.... they usually do the same thing for Hockey as well.....

 

bah forget madden I'll keep the ESPN for the $20... This game is off the hook I cant get enough of it.. after fumbling around and learning controls I now sit at 18-5.... bengals are the hotness.

Yeah Pittsburgh drafted him last year, cuz he is in Madden 2004, my Broncos just owned his ass on MNF in my Franchise, Ashley Lelie had 187yds and 2 TD's and Portis had 163yds and 2 TD's in a 52-21 shellacking.

Can't wait to play franchise on Madden 2005, I turned the Broncos into a dynasty and Jake Plummer into a hall off famer. 6 super bowl wins in 7 years, Shannahan retired after number 5 saying "I've hoisted the trophy so many times that I think I am getting arthritis"

4 MVP's for Portis, 3 QB of the year for Plummer, 2 WR of the year for Lelie and pro bowl every year for all 3 of them. And then I moved my team to LA for shits and giggles and broght back the Oilers. The Los Angeles Oilers hee hee.....
