ESPN NFL 2k5

Has anyone seen anything on this yet? Do you know anything about it? I saw it's being released with a $20 price tag.... yes, the 2K5 edition. Just wondering if anyone knows whats up with this game.

How does it compare to the EA Sports line?

Read the review too. Sounds pretty tight. I might have to take them up on their offer.

the 20 dollor is a nice attempt to go after madden. but it wont be enough to overtake it.

sweet! This is a continuation of Sega's kickass 2k series. Very popular during the Dreamcast days
but then Madden took over the market after that. I still say its fundamentally a sound simulation.

I'll rent it just so I get to see my highlights on ESPN, but Madden is still King on my console.

just go to ign.com or gamerankings.com and check out the reviews. I am also a madden fan, but this game got a 9.3 and 9.4 from ign. That is a very good score. Gamepro gave madden and espn about the same exact scores. They just have it at 20 bucks to try and outsell madden. Thats the only reason period. Just think about it. You can get 2.5 espns for 1 madden. Im rerally curious to see who will sell better this year. Im still undecided if ill get espn.

Trust me Madden will still outsell this game by a wide margin.

The most likely scenario is more people buying both games this year instead of just Madden like last year. I didn't know anybody who only owned NFL2K4 last year but I knew a couple people who had both.

Plus I think I read that online is Xbox only for NFL2K5, WTF are they thinking? PS2 is the biggest console user-base, if thats true it's gonna hurt their sales a lot worse that the $20 will help.

All of you Madden whores...try this game. It's as good a game or even better than Madden, and is significantly cheaper.

Check out the reviews:

Madden 2k5 has Jill Arrington as a commentator this year. Jill Arrington is the HAWT blonde from Thursday night ESPN Gameday. She was contracted by Madden and will join Sir John and Al Michaels for commentary.

I think the game is pretty cool. Not very user friendly and if you dont know a little about football you wont play it but overall i give it a 7 out of 10.

When i went to game stop last night I asked how many reservation they had for both Halo2 and Madden05 and she told me that halo had about 200 where madden05 had about75 combined. I thought that was interesting.

to everything you said except the online thing. ESPN 2k5 is online for both Xbox and PS2.

This is what I'm doing. Madden ownz... but for $20 I pre-purchased 2k5 in addition to Madden and I'll be picking it up tonight after work.

Oh and BTW, I'll also be getting 2k5 Hockey for $20 http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/groups/ESPN2K5-announce/

When madden comes out in august we will see which one is better, i have a feeling that this game is close to as good as madden 2004 so basically its 1 year behind and i think those reviews take into great consideration the price. I cannot put a price on madden 2004 when i got it, i was so happy for such a long time

the only reason anyone is talking about espn2k5 at all is because it costs $20 instead of $50. personally I don't pick my video games by 'best value for the money'....I want the best game.

if it was the same price as madden, no one would buy it.

so madden is obviously a better game, espn2k5 is just for the cheapskates or people who don't really give a shit...

cough up the extra 30 and get madden if you plan on spending any amount of time playing this.

I was a madden player for years until i found nfl fever. I think this will give madden a run for its money. It is only because you have been playing madden all this time. Comfort in knowing where the buttons are . There is not a honest person on the board that can say when 2k came out on dreamcast it did not own madden.

You can't really compare Halo2 to Madden, sports games appeal to a specific audience, shooters hit a wider audience than even the great Madden does. Go back in 3-4 months and ask how many reservations she has for GTA: San Andreas my guess is it will put Halo2 to shame.

I honestly hate Halo, it is the most complicated first person shooter. Plus it doesnt have shit and will never have shit on Jamesbond for N64 :in a class of its own:

As for Sports games its like i previously posted just about every single EA sports game is better then its competitior.

Halo has too many rules and regulations, getting into tanks and gunners how boring, thats not a first person shooter. The Jamesbond was the game and shall NEVER be owned by ANY game

thats what was great, you can customize it the way _you_ like it. and you dont have to play with tanks or gunners or any vehicles, they just add another dimension and are easily defeated with the right strategy...ctf in halo cannot be beat.

I dont know i just think that Halo is too much for a first person shooter, to many buttons and options. What happened to good old fashioned run/duck/jump/shoot (yes i know you cant jump in James Bond). In halo you got all of this extra stuff that just takes away from the experience. I guess my main frustration comes because i dont like the xbox controlers because of games like Halo and all the damn buttons and rules to play. Also because the only people i ever play Halo with are a bunch of fuckin Halo Nerds and i usually end up killing like 1 or two of them. But in other shooters like counter strike, socom, and James Bond, i own all those bitches....
