I have my Western Digital 500GB Book plugged directly into my PS3 right now playing all of my movies I have downloaded on there! When I first got my PS3 I could only play about 6 movies. After the update, I can play ALL of them (over a hundred!) on my PS3!! I friggin' love it!!! 88 Minutes is on pause as we "type"!

I have no idea what you are doing CLpower, but mine is working just fine, and I made no changes on my console other than the update 2.10. Good luck!

All of my movies have the .avi extention, but are recognized as divx on my PS3. Prior to the update, they mostly said "unsupported data". Afterwards, they all play beautifully!
