Dual Display Question (NVIDIA-specific)
Dual Display Question (NVIDIA-specific)
I currently have a 256MB 7800GT and a 19" CRT monitor. I'm thinking about getting a high-end 24" LCD for the increased desktop real estate. I'd like to use the new monitor for day to day stuff but continue to play games on the CRT.
Is it possible with NVIDIA cards running two displays to target which display a specific full-screen application (like a game) will run on? I spent a few minutes poking around the driver settings this morning and didn't see anything.

I don't have any experience with the card but it should be possible.
Also, I have a 6ms Acer 24" display and I highly recommend it. I use it mostly for gaming and there is no ghosting issues at all.

BTW - I don't want to use the LCD for gaming because 1024x768 or 1280x960 is plenty of resolution for my gaming needs. I don't want to sacrifice framerate and/or graphics options just to run the games at the LCD's native resolution. The monitor I'm considering is geared towardthe professional graphics market and probably won't look so great running at anything less than its native resolution.

Although I'm not running multi-monitors at the moment, when I did, I used an app called UtraMon (http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/) which lets you make scripts for your game links so they play on the correct monitor and turn your other monitor off automatically.

I freakin love Eizos. When my CRT takes a dump, I'm picking one up for sure. I'd probably just go for a 19" CG series and use a small second monitor for tools.
