DS or PSP
I'm confused and I don't really know which one I want. The PSP seems to be a little more serious of games that I really want a portable game system. I like having the abilities to watch movies on it. But thats really about all I like more about it. I have a iPod for music, so its music player is a little null and void.
I like the playability of the DS just for the simple fact the games you can play over and over and over again. Where as once I beat a playstation/xbox game, for the most part I am done with it. But I do like the size of the screen on the PSP compared to the DS. I think I have my own answer, i'm starting to lean more and more towards the DS. I'm just looking for a little input from the AZ crew that may have both or opinions on either or.
Can you burn movies to the PSP via the magic stick? Because I really cant see myself buying UMD's. As much as I would like to get both, that would be kind of pointless.

yes you can put movies onto the psp by the memorystick, but you'll need to spend another 40 or so odd dollars to get at least 1gb stick to do that.
im kinda biased against the psp, only cause i have one and dont really touch it cause the games i have take up some time to play, i cant just hop on and play a quick game and then set it aside, (like my friend in class always playing tetris or mario kart)

DS Lite, I'm going to give one to my wife for Christmas.
1) Because of the brain games for the DS
2) The older library of GBA games can be played of DS
3) The Surgeon game for DS
4) There's not a lot of games for the PSP the interest me.
5) DS has larger library to pick from as well.
6) DS is $70 cheaper.

I have both of them and the DS is hands down better in graphics. but i like the PSP better because of the multi-entertainment capabilites. game play is weird on the DS though.

Its pretty simple. PSP is a portable PS2, if you like the PS2, and could see yourself playing those games portably (is that a word?) then the PSP is for you...
I'm sure your familiar with Nintendo's style of games, if that's what you prefer more for portability, then the DS is for you.
One thing I must say about the PSP, don't think about picking it up and playing a quick game, such as you would with the DS... The PSP takes longer to load, and the game's generally take longer to play... but the graphics on the PSP are unprecedented.

I have a PSP and I'm very happy with it. Now there is a really good library of games to play on it. One thing that I like about the PSP is that it has games that are console-like games (syphon filter, Metal Gear Solid, SOCOM, Virtua Tennis, Daxter), and it also has games that are more fitting of the portable genre (Loco Roco, the Lumines series, etc). The quality of the screen is top notch, and the graphics are great.
PSP, cause you're 27 and NOT 7...
....j/k
I think, there are definitly, pro's and con's to both... I like how the DS folds up which makes it a "true" portable... ever try putting a PSP in your pocket
and don't forget, with the DS you get Nintendog
(but just so you know, I voted for PSP)

I think they are both cool in their own ways. I love my PSP just because I can play my favorite PS2 games on the go, such as Metal Gear, Socom, Killzone, etc. Plus, if you are near a WiFi hotspot, you can jump online and browse the internet or play games online. I barely take my PSP out and play on the go, I play mostly at night when I dont feel like playing PS2. The games have been lacking, but the next few months are showing promise.
I have both as well and the DS is just more fun. It's more affordable all around and it just feels like a better value, and it has a great library which is only getting better. It's a dedicated game machine.
I like the PSP as well but I don't know if I would have bought one if it was a gift. If you sit for long periods of time, like on a bus or a plane, the PSP is the ultimate. You have all your multimedia at your disposal in one unit. Other than that though, it doesn't feel like a gamer's portable. I really don't think the PSP's library is very good, and from what I'm reading Sony is leaving it out in the cold in the future. I only have a few games I really get into. With the PSP I have maybe 5 great titles - with the DS I have around 15. Not to mention a large hidden cost is a large memory stick, since you'll need one to take full advantage of what the PSP can do.
Since you said you weren't that interested in the music and so forth, I completely recommend the DS.

Thanks guys.... I'm gonna go pick up a DS. I was looking for something I could just pick up and play. I played the new Mario brothers yesterday. My co-worker brought her daughter to work yesterday and she had one, so I was playing around with it a little bit.. I think thats exactly what i'm looking for.
