Which CPU?

computer gurus, please share your thoughts. I tried to search on line, but there are too many terms I do not understand. I'm a bit too old for the computer suff. I'd like to see what you guys think.

Ok, trying to get a Dell computer here. Both CPUs cost the same. Which one should I pick?

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7500 (2.20GHz, 4M L2 Cache, 800MHz) Dual Core
(slower with more cache?)

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T8300 (2.40GHz, 3M L2 Cache, 800Mhz) Dual Core
(faster with less cache?)

Many thanks in advance

Hey, honestly? neither...

But I'd go with T8300. I'm assuming you are looking at latops?

What is your budget?

Get the T8300, you'll hardly notice the 1 mb difference in L2 cache. I would take a look at the Intel Core i7, unless your looking at notebooks.

Yes, Sir. A laptop it is. How's
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T9300 (2.50GHz, 6M L2 Cache, 800Mhz) Dual Core ?

It's the next level up, but will cost another $60. Does it worth the cost? Like getting a car, even though I won't street race, but it's nice to know that extra power is available =) But, on the other hand, economy is tough. Got to save every penny possible.

Thanks there. I'll use this laptop for work. I currently have a desktop. It's almost 5 yrs old. No problem with current unit, but when it comes to photos, it runs on the slow side.

I'll most run spreadsheet and some simple photo copy/paste. No fancy photo editing software. And, most important of all, surf Acurazine.com =)
