Video gets tricky, but I usually have good results with handbrake's results with their pre set ps3 profile. I have also heard good things about redkawa's ps3 video 9.

For images jpeg should work just fine.

What kind of files?

PS3 will open MOST video files if its got the latest firmware update. It should open almost all image files too.

If it won't open the video file, let me know I can recommend free and legal software to do so.

 

Just use PS3 Media Server. From my understanding it streams even HD audio. Obviously you need a wireless router connected to your PS3.

 

I'm trying to load jpeg, wmv, avi, gif files using usb flash drive. When i plugged in, it doesn't read it. i'm connected to the wireless router using cat5 so i'm good with the connection.
